I'm still working on this big "portable speaker roundup" and hoping it's online early next week. Until yesterday, when I received the Bose Revolve+, I thought the BeoLit would win the roundup. Now I'm not so sure.

The Revolve+ is a seriously decent bit of kit. Tiny, much smaller than I expected, with a BeoLit-style carry handle. It's well-made (rubberised, heavy), the controls are fantastic, it has voice feedback, enables you to control Google Voice and it's so easy to setup. Good value, too. Best of all, it sounds great!

Will be interesting to see how this comparison pans out. In the meantime, a photo of them both.

It's relatively cheap as well at £280. Interesting.

Nor ours. Then again, neither would the BeoLit 15!

Hope your Big Portable Speaker Roundup includes the Sonos Move: Isn't it the only portable speaker that has location-aware microphones to adjust the speaker output?  It would be nice to know if the feature is a win or a waste.  (You can turn the feature off by muting the Google/Amazon voice control.)  Is it possible, despite the larger cubic volume of the Beolit 17 and its 5.5" woofer+2 passive radiators, that in certain locations Move plus some huge EQ might sound just as good?  I doubt it, but certainly a comparo would be interesting.  Most importantly... does it sound better in pink?!?

Flask vs lunch pail. I wonder if the Bose is using BT 5, which would give it a better connection and audio quality.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

(only).  Oops, from your original post's quote marks, I parsed big-review (many), not big-speaker (size).  Looking forward to it.

Bose owner's guides are a step above B&O's, but still don't say any technical details.  I believe that's *intentional*: Marketing, so they can't be compared with other products feature-wise, and engineering, so they can do inline-upgrades without fixing the manual.  If you believe the manual, a spec they do mention is a 30- or 33-foot reception limit; BT 5 would be 4 times that.  Easy enough to test!

The original post was 2.5 years ago. So the review if ever published, is probably out of date anyway.

OferCryinOutLoud.  Suckered in by it rising to the top of the forums list...  Well I certainly know the Sonos Move wasn't part of the review!  Sorry 'bout that, and to all a good night.
