Hello everybody,
I have a beautiful Beogram 1000 which I got from my dad. However it have stopped working. It worked fine a couple of months ago and haven´t played it since. Plugged it in yesterday and nothing, it wont start. I can hear a small sound from the engine so atleast it gets electricity, and the belt seems fine aswell. Do you have any idea what´s wrong, and what to do about it?
Conlcusion: the platter wont start spinning when i plug it in and release the tonearm!
If the motor is spinning you may have problems with the speed change mechanics, check this thread
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
I reckon the motor has seized with the grease in it solidifying. Turn it on and try spinning the platter and see if you can encourage the motor a little - however the real answer is for the motor to be properly disassembled and cleaned -
'Something lingering, with boiling oil in it, I fancy. Something of that sort. I think boiling oil occurs in it, but I'm not sure. I know it's something humorous, but lingering, with either boiling oil or melted lead.'
Who will get the quote first?

I have tried spinning the platter with no result, so how do I properly disassemble and clean the motor without breaking anything?
Have you guys done it and maybe wanna help me with a short tutorial?
Thank you for the answers!
