I recently picked up a clean ( black and rosewood) BC 1100 cassette deck. Tapes play without a problem and the sound is very good for such an old machine. Fast forward and rewind didn't work so well so I bought a new belt. I've now spent quite a few hours trying to get the cassette mechanism out of the deck in order to replace the belt but no matter what I try it won't come out. It looks like the best way might be to remove the front of the machine but this is also beyond me. Can anyone share their experience replacing the belt ?

Have you got a copy of the service manual?

It is available on site for Silver and Gold members!

Hi Ben

I believe I do have a service manual that covers adjustments, test points, schematic etc... but belt changing is not covered.
