That's odd! I can test on monday.
You can only get into the AirPlay Screen from the Homescreen of the ATV....not when you are using an app.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I just tested the Airplay 2 update today, and I must say that I’m positively surprised : My Apple TV connected to a Beovision 8 (and NL/ML, which is not useful in AP2 setup) is almost perfectly in sync with my A9 mkII and Essence. No echo!

Hi Sandeep,
Which functions are you missing?
As Millemissen wrote, it does not work in all apps. See what happens on the Frontpage of the Apple TV. I have BV11-46 and it works like a charm. :)
On my V1 the new PUC works, but a bit haphazardly. The yellow button needs a very long press? Or maybe the ATV is slow to load the AirPlay menu?
And I miss the lovely graphic buttons in the menu!
For those, who use/have used the original Apple remote (mine is unpacked!):
Is this similar to how the play/pause button there works?
P.S. None of the apps that I tried gave me access (pressing the yellow button) to the AP2 menu from within the app - only from the Home Screen I can access this.
Which is kind of wierd and unhandy imo.

The yellow button needs a very long press?
How loooooong?
I tested it a few times. 3 seconds it is. Love the look of the menu:
I have another question: will there be a sound delay using AirPlay 2 if I would *integrate* a Essence Mk2 or Core with my V1?

Yes, behaviour is similar as with the Apple Remote. The Apple Remote also doesn't give you access to the AP2 menu from within apps.
Short press on yellow should be enough
Before we had very nice graphics to the right of the Home and Play/Pause options. They got lost in this new PUC-version. Hope we can get them back.
Furthermore: the yellow but now only pauses, but can't be used to send a Play command. Very strange. The Play/Pause button on the ATV remote does still both pause and play.
Here's a good explainer of all the extra functions of the ATV Remote:

Sorry for these multiple posts - I'm testing it all a bit (love a bit of spare time with wife and kid away from home
There is no need for the AP2-menu within Apps because it is accessible within the Audio-menu during playback of content. (Off course, this will cause sound delays, you preferably you should use BeoLink for multiroom BeoVision-content).
So, why did they/Apple make that menu?
Not sure - though i have retested the BR One now again, and finally got it to work i.e. bring up the menu from within an app.
Not perfect - one long press on the yellow pauses the video, a second long press brings up the Airplay menu.
Maybe it will get better, i.e. menu brought up with one long press, but as yet it requires 2 presses at my end.
Now that we're talking about PUC functions - perhaps the most useful function missing from the PUC table is the ability to bring up the info screen, as someone mentioned above. That info screen / menu allows Airplay (re) direction etc, and is useful at times.
It would be great if that can be added to the PUC functions - probably best achieved using the Info button on the BR i would suggest.
Otherwise, as it stands the current PUC functionality is very limited. Fine in so far as it goes, but no more.
Wht do you miss?
But Sandyb, many functions are different depending on the app on Apple TV.
E.g there's some stupid golf app than you can't get out of with the back-button. You have to press green. In another app, yellow is pause and a third it gives you the information of the current programme. And lastly, many of the functions on the ATV remote are bluetooth, and can't be learned to PUC functions. That really does not have anything to with B&O's implementation, but more that app developers that are not aligned.
I don't disagree, and it doesn't bother me (i.e. a basic implementation).
I maintain that i have my doubts over whether PUC will be implemented in a future BV or sound centre designed for use with 3rd party TVs.
PUC is nice in so far as it goes, but as you imply, is a bit limited, and voice and apps are increasingly relied upon as a control interface.
Sandyb: As stated, being able to bring up the info screen is useful. It shows the episode / video description, allows Airplay control etc. The BR doesn't have the voice control built in to the native remote. Nor does it have the video scrubbing back / forward that the native remote does. But let's not pretend the current PUC implementation for Apple TV is anything other than very basic. And the current PUC functions can be achieved using CEC.

Once again you have misinterpreted my point.
I'd prefer them to retain PUC, i just think there is a pretty reasonable chance they don't.
For reasons explained numerous times.
You are correct though on that info window, i didnt realise it can be accessed.
The broader point remains though - i fear they will regard IR as unnecessary, given CEC is more prevalent, and the increasing industry shift to voice and apps.
My thoughts around this are merely a riposte to the previous discussion about possible specs to a future sound centre type of product, where PUC was assumed to be included. I wouldn't make that assumption. Many posters act as if life cannot continue without PUC, but things move on, and IR i fear will decline in importance, a process which has already started in my view.
But like you, i'd have a preference that it was retained.
This kind of discussion always tent to be rather academic.
We have no idea how things will work out, what they will end up doing.....
.....and no influence either.
All I can say is, that in my case PUC solutions work.
My son is using CEC (non-B&O tv) - I would not say that that works well.....sometimes yes, but by far not always.
Maybe a combined solution will be the result - PUC for the SC and the connection and integration of the many (still) ir related devices, and CEC for connection to X-tv.
We’ll see what comes.
completely agree, all i am flagging is perhaps moderating expectations as to PUC inclusion, but i would prefer its inclusion.
I dont have any CEC control paths, but quite a few of my friends with relatively new equipment have managed to use their TV remotes to control the streaming boxes connected to their TV's, and soundbars.
So for all that PUC is a bit better, that may not be enough to guarantee its continuation.
jimcaj:Is this possible? Turntable->Riaa->M3(LineIn)->AirPlay2->Libratone Mini or other AirPlay2 compatible 3rd party brand device
Turntable->Riaa->M3(LineIn)->AirPlay2->Libratone Mini or other AirPlay2 compatible 3rd party brand device
No, that is not possible. M3 (or any other B&O device) cannot initiate an Airplay stream.
jimcaj: Turntable->Riaa->M3(LineIn)->M5->A6 is working, but thats Beolink Multiroom. I’d think.

Correct. Its Beolink. No Airplay involved.

cool thing they got it finally to work. works smooth to say siri/the homepod to connect kitchen-speaker etc. even appleTV is on sync now. one thing doesn´t work anymore here: my beolab 2000 in the bathroom via the nl/ml-converter doesn´t join an airplay-session anymore.

Hello fellow B&O fans,
Do any of you have issues with Airplay 2 on Beoplay M5 after the release? - I can play one number and then it cuts off the sound. I use Tidal Hifi from iPad and/or iPhone. Reset has been done, but little good it did, unfortunately.
The issue is both when streaming only to the M5, but also when using both my BS 2 and M5. Pretty annoying.... 😏

Old thread I know, but having replaced my BV6 with a BV10-32 I have got rid of the need for an hdmi audio extractor, and have been experimenting with sending Apple TV audio to other rooms using Airplay. I realised that Apple TV has a method to avoid the sound delays mentioned by 1990 above.
Whilst playing music shows using Apple TV into (non-networked) BV10-32 in my TV room, I wanted to send the Apple TV audio to other rooms - in my case to an Airport Express feeding a BC9500 in my living room (and then via MCL to other rooms.) Initially there was a sound delay, caused by a mismatch between the BV10 and Airport express Digital to Analogue processing times.
Anyway, the following useful menu in the Apple TV calibrates the system nicely (using an iPhone) , and it now plays without the annoying echo.
When showing the above picture, the TV sends audio tones that are received by your iPhone and then used to calibrate the Airplay 'system' - it's very straightforward.
I hope other forum members find this useful!
Thanks for that - guessing it may be useful for a good few.
