My moment got bricked when the pushed out the last software update.  I just got it back from service.  Now during the set up it says it cannot contact beoportal.  it did see my DLNA server and processed.

However, now i get the error that it 'cannot check for software updates', even when i tell it to check.

Any thoughts?

(connected via wi-fi, though i tried plugging in ethernet with no change).

Have you tried a factory reset?  That always solved my connectivity woes.

i tried that initially, but it hung when trying to connect to beoportal and would not proceed past that.  i tried doing it hardwired to my router and it still said it could not contact beoportal.

Failing to connect to Beoportal always were network issues in my setup.

mostly a reset of the router resolved it, sometimes a simple detach/attach of the LAN cable was sufficient

I have had this beoportal hung state at each factory reset, you just need t be very patient and it will resume after 20 to 30', I don't remember precisely, but it resumes at the end of the day.
