Hello everybody,

I just discovered a new firmware is available for BeoLit12. Update worked without any problems.

The latest software version of Beolit 12 is 1.02.12. You can see the actual software version of Beolit 12 in the menu STATUS on your Beolit Setup app.

A great update is now available for your Beolit 12. It adds more benefits to your Beolit 12 and will allow you to control your Beolit 12 even more intuitively.

  • Automatic network selection: Your Beolit 12 will now automatically select between already configured network profiles – no need to change the network settings every time you move your Beolit 12 to a new location.
  • Complete wireless setup: You no longer need to connect Beolit 12 with an Ethernet cable when setting up new network profiles. You can set up new network profiles wirelessly via the Beolit Setup App available from the App Store, or with a new easy setup webpage (both mobile and Mac/PC browser pages).
  • Always ready: When connected to the mains, Beolit 12 stays on when you have switched it on, so it is available for streaming when you are. When not connected to the mains, Beolit 12 will still switch off after 10 minutes to preserve battery.
  • In addition, the update includes performance improvements such as increased wireless stability

My findings so far:

If more than one network are available, it does not select the strongest.

You cannot modify the default network profile anymore.

After some hours of testing I can confirm the connection to be more robust as before.

Does anybody else experiences with the new version?

I wish I hadn't updated! The connection is very unstable now.

With version 1.02.10 I almost had no problems.

Sorry to hear that, do you have more than one profile configured?

Dear all,

Does the Beolit still need connection to a WiFi network or is the Beolit and a iPod Touch / IPhone enough? I am not sure if the Wifi is strong enough in my garden places where I would likt ot use it.

Thanks,

Heribert

It sounds better hard wired anyway

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I have been thinking of doing a hard wire too.  My Beolit 12 has essentially become a table radio in the bedroom listening to internet radio and iTunes.
