Hi

I was looking for a replacement *** for my  ***. I've had a look on ebay for a replacement, but wasn't sure of the quality of those ***.

On a separate note, I have a Beo*** which could potentially need a new ****. The *** is working fine, however on the ***, the *** is the same ....

Apologies for the long post. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Paul

As well as the *** for the ****, *** (***) can also supply new *** for your Beo*** - I know as I've just bought two from him!

Now is this just me who thinks this is getting ridiculous?

Costing just a few € - less than a membership as far as I remember - you cannot ask this anymore - as in the past??

Espcially for items that are no longer produced by B&O...

Come on Dillen/Martin ;-))

Hi Kallasr

It's fine. This site is a valuable source for all things B&O so I'm happy to contribute with the silver membership :-)

I think it's perfectly reasonable. The site has to be funded somehow.

So in your opinion all members should be allowed to put wanted ads up for cheap things?

How much would a cheap thing max cost?

Who should we ask to know the price of a wanted part so we can see if the wanted ad is allowed?

Posting in the sales/wanted sections is currently for silver and gold members only - how do we change this to

allow wanted ads for cheap things?

And should we have a different set of regulations for sales/wanted ads for things that are no longer produced by B&O?

....  :-)

Come on, Ralf... Doesn't that sound ridiculous?
I hope you can see, that doing it like that would be difficult to manage.

It costs money to run a site like Beoworld. Quite a lot actually. We have very few ways of raising that
money and I think we are doing a very good job and providing a very good service for what it costs.
That's my opinion anyways.

Thanks Paul, for upgrading.
You have email.

You are very right, you are doing a very good job.

I just felt bad for someone new to this site being asked for a paid membership when asking for some cheap stuff...

I would be very hard to manage, I agree.
Easiest way to keep it as it is, unless someone comes up with some genius idea about how to handle this.

People asking for how much worth their stuff is might even try to place a for sale ad in a different manner.

Maybe selling stuff requires a membership more than looking for stuff - since there are a lot of sales plattforms out there in the www.

Just some thoughts,
Keep up the good work!

Best regards
Ralf

My initial thought was that it would be unfair to ask a person to upgrade their membership when they are seeking an item or part that is, for all intents and purposes, unavailable.   In other words, they'd be paying to get the response "you're out of luck", or "check ebay".   But I suppose the counter-argument is that there IS a chance that a BW member (former member Leslie comes to mind) might have said elusive part.  No guarantee of course.

I think it's fair that people who use this site regularly, whether that be looking for solutions to B&O hardware/software issues, or like me on this occasion, asking advice and looking for replacement parts, should be contributing financially towards the running of the site by upgrading their membership. This site is a fantastic B&O resource (with a very friendly, informative and helpful community) which I for one greatly appreciate it being available. I doesn't matter to me after upgrading my membership that an item or part isn't available, as the site is so much more than that. I'm very happy to (now) be an upgraded member of the site :-)
