dear Beo-friends,
In our living room we have a BeoVision 10 plus digital TV decoder ("UPC") which is connected via PUC
wondering whether the follwoing would work if I would buy a BeoVision 7 for our bedroom:
1) if that new BV7 would be connected via a Masterlink cable to the BV 10, can I then use the Beo4 *in the bedroom* to operate the UPC decoder located in the living room, i.e. watch UPC-TV in the bedroom?
2) in the bedroom I have a different decoder (XS4all, with different channels); if I would connect that one via PUC to the BV7 (connected to the BV10), can I then watch XS4all-TV and operate that one with a Beo4 in the living room?
Answers for 1) and 2) are probably the same, but maybe not!
Thanks for any help -- a "yes" on both would really help be the decisive arguments for replacing the bedroom Panasonic TV with a BV7

Hello ReneB,
Question 1:
It will work, receiving SD video signals in bedroom, if:
You run a RF cable from BV10 to BV7 together with ML.
Your UPC box is connected to BV10 via SCART in addition to any digital connection, and outputting analoge and digital signals in parallel.
Option settings BV7 to 6
Question 2:
Part one: Maybe Yes, but as I'm not connected to my ressources I cannot check if there is a PUC available for your box.
Part two: No, there can only be one video master in a ML system. You can decide which one of your TVs will be video master, to offer sources to the other. When Bv10 is the master you can watch the BV10's sources on BV7.

1) Unfortunatly the UPC media box can't output scart + hdmi at the same time. If scart is connected, the hdmi is not available. So this only works if your BV10 is connected with scart only.
thanks for your quick reply....my UPC decoder is connected to the BV10 only via HDMI cable, so you are saying that is not sufficient, i.e. SCART also needed? And why the RF cable ??? (I only have digital inputs).
ps: re the XS4all decoder: I already have a PUC for that box (was part time installed to my BV10, but I moved it to the BV-less bedroom).
Currently, for B&O, the link distribution of video signals only works for analog signals, which are ditributed via RF cable.
Using the optional HDMI matrix which is avaiable for BV10, cannot be easily integrated into a ML network.
The video-signal can only be distributed via RF Cable. (coax-cable)
HDMI as a source on your BV10, cannot be sent. to your BV7. Only CVBS which is available in your scart. So in order to have it working it has to be connected with scart, which means you won't have HD on your BV10.
thanks !! I think I understand it now ;-)
as I do have HD-signal in the living room but *not* in the bedroom maybe I'll do it then the other way around, i.e. the bedroom BV7 being the master with XS4all via SCART-only. This at least allows us to see the XS4all channels in the living room.
hmm, not completely happy (apart from all these extra cables...should be wireless these days!).
anyway: THANKS to both of you!
