Hi all..

My beosound 3000 wont start playing.. cd/radio.

The standby light is on as normal.

The doors open like normal.

The "tray" open so i can insert a cd, and close fine again..

But when i press cd, nothing happen, not even on the remote.. or any other button

I have change OPTION  A.OPT to 1.. the red light flash 1 time, but nothing happens..

Any ideas ?

Best regards

Morten

Hi Morten,

Probably the laser has gone. If not, have you tried cleaning the laser head itself with a cotton bud and some cleaner?

The Radio doesn't work either?!

Okay.. perhaps a different approach.  Your button pad may be faulty...

What happens if you press Radio on the remote?

Nothing,  not any buttons work on the remote eighter.

I can press sound 0 2 5 8 and get in test mode.

In test mode, i can test button pad, all works, and the remote also works..

In TM 31, factory settings, i get message TM error

When i leave test mode, nothing works..

Best regards

Well, that's the basics covered then!  All I can think of is that the microprocessor is faulty, but I've kind of reached my limit here as I'm not an engineer.

I have seen 2 3000 units with defective processors, it can behave very weird when this is happening, but it is funny that you can enter service mode and so on.

Can the radio tune stations, can you delete/store new stations ?

Ok, sounds like a dead processor module then. Not easy to fix, you need to find a replacement unfortunately.

Nope, you need to find another 3000 unit, that might be broken in other ways, and then swap the module.

It is also possible you use the processor modules from Beovision 7-32, I have used one of those before, it is a bit more complex, because you need to find a module from the TV that has pincode disabled, and then you need to swap the EEPROM with the 3000 software from your unit to the new unit. This is also a chance, because it could be your 3000's eeprom that is dead, but it is more likely to be the surrounding module that is dead.

The best solution is to find another defect 3000 with a working processor. Just remember that you need to have the pin code for the defect unit also.
