Hi All,

Our Beovision 7 that we "accidentally" bought was delivered and set up last week and we're very pleased with it. 99% of the time we'll be using the connected Freesat box but I was having a look at the Freeview built into the unit over the weekend and it doesn't seem to be doing much.

When I switch to it, it just about shows a picture on BBC1, but there is no sound and the information bar is present, cannot be removed and the set does not respond to any of the DTV commands on the Beo5 - it will not change channels, switch to radio or bring up any of the usual Freeview options.

As our Freeview signal has always been fairly poor I thought I would try re-tuning but I can find nothing on any menu that permits re-tuning of the stations! Also, the 'Menu' key on the Beo5 needs to be pressed twice before it brings up any menus at all when in DTV mode - I thought the general operation of additional modules like the DTV one was one press for the module menus and two for the set's configuration menus?

Just to clarify I have spoken to the B&O dealer who delivered it and they've been very helpful but I ideally need to be sat in front of the set when talking to them, which means taking a couple of hours off work, so I thought I'd canvass thoughts before I do this in case it's something very simple - work's a bit busy at the moment!

Any advice gratefully received...

Surprise it doesn't sound like B&O dealer at all, shall you TV be not functioned 100% they shall put it right (at their expense and time), but by all means refer to manual and confirm with menu which should go as you said for additional modules

Don't worry - be Happy

Hi,

I have a 7-55 so I presume the procedure is the same as for a 7-40.

On your remote control, press the 'TV' button.

Then press the 'Menu' button.

This will display a range of options.

Press 'Options',then 'Tuner Setup',then 'DVB' and check that it is switched to 'On'.

Having switched 'DVB' to 'On",then press the 'DTV' button, then 'Menu' ,then 'Options',then 'Reinstall all'.

This should then tune in the TV.

Hope this resolves your problem.

As an update, I sat down over the weekend to make a list of the menu options I did have, in order to discuss the situation with the dealer. Then discovered the damn thing was working fine!

It only finds 8 freeview channels and they're all unwatchable due to our low signal but at least it now has all its menus present and correct.

After living with it for a couple of weeks, i have to say that it is very smart, a joy to use and looks fantastic. Only one downside really - the picture's still not as good as the Avant, even in HD. Such is progress...
