Changes in BLGW 1.5.2 since previous BLGW SW version 1.5.1:

New features

  • Add Deezer & TuneIn content to the play queue directly from a macro in the BLGW. This can be used to start a certain playlist or genre when the customers are coming home and activates their coming home scenario. Please note that the Deezer playlists needs to be public in order to access them from the BLGW. It is not required to login to TuneIn or Deezer from the BLGW for this feature to work.
  • It is now possible to move buttons from the “scene” tab to other tabs if they don’t make sense there. Sometimes a button is used to close a shade or adjust the light and now you can move the button to the category where it belongs. Find this setup in the Interfaces tab under Zones setup.
  • Support for RTSP (H.264) cameras when used with latest BeoLink2 app.
  • A new Generic UI type in BeoLink2 app for streaming sources like Airplay, Bluetooth, Spotify and QPlay, Google Cast etc. Re-synchronize the sources in the Interfaces tab in BLGW to get the new UI Type in the app.
  • Adds the possibility to create virtual dimmers and shades. See the BLGW help page for more information regarding this feature.

New & updated drivers

  • KNX driver – added the possibility to use a different group address for feedback for the resources types TOGGLE and GPIO.

Bug Fixes

  • Improved process of starting up of TV’s in deep sleep.
  • Various bugs have been identified and fixed.

This is a great update. Now we can finally have control over playing specific TuneIn stations and Deezer playlists -- much like how we could create macros involving Spotify from the BeoSound 5 -- before that support was discontinued. I know this is a feature some on here were hoping for in order to have more control over how an NL source starts.

It looks like the relevant commands are:

Playque add TuneIn station

Playque add Deezer playlists

Playque add URL

However, there isn't much guidance on how we actually select the specific playlist/station. Perhaps that's what the "Playque add URL" is for? I do see where  one can see a specific URL on the computer web browser when playing a playlist on Deezer on the computer. Perhaps its a matter of cutting and pasting this URL? It looks like this will take some experimenting and sharing our results on here.

yes, a big step forward!

move buttons from the scene tab is so important! and the second big thing is the virtual dimmer and shades. it opens a new way of programming of custom strings.

I do with that they had allowed us to define and label our own tabs. Also, a feature that was lost from the transition from the MLGW to the BLGW was the ability to insert blank buttons in the app interface so that we could visually group scenes together and have the groups separated by the blank buttons.

new firmeware:

Changes in BLGW SW 1.5.3 since previous version 1.5.2:

New features

  • Added support to use Bang & Olufsen products using FIXED IP address so Gateway can reside on a different VLAN. Find this configuration under Interfaces > B&O Products.
  • Adds "Edition of user macros" flag to user settings, limiting which users could create scenes from the BeoLink2 app.

New & updated drivers

  • OpenWeather driver: fix bugs due to changes in API.
  • Added Picture Mute command to Bang & Olufsen products.

Quality improvements

  • Improved stability of Khimo connection.
  • Corrects synchronization of status telegrams from B&O products.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing selecting Link sources on Master Link products.
  • Several improvements done to the IP Camera feature both using local and remote connection.
  • Solves an error in time synchronization: BLGW could become unresponsive if no internet was available
  • Several bugs have been identified and fixed

Hi, I updated my gateway yesterday. After the update all my Masterlinkproducts (BV 755, BS5, BL 3500) became unresponsive. I have restarted both the gateway and all the ML products but no buttons in the Beolink APP works. Can someoneelse confirm if this is a general problem or just a problem with my gateway?

best regards

Hi Martin

I beta tested 1.5.2 and at that time I had a ML BV7-55 and control worked perfect.

Perhaps check your ML cable and remove the ML devices and add again.

Or

Create a case at Beointergration they are rally helpful

Hi Seanie, I upgraded yesterday to 1.5.3 and it was then all ML-products stoped working. The "beolink" symbol is green in the right corner in the web-interface but still not working. I have written to Beointegration and is awaiting some answers.

I've had problems, too. My macros would no longer work on my BeoSystem 3. When I use the capture function to try to detect the BeoSystem 3, it does not register any video source commands and detects the BeoSystem 3 as an audiomaster (instead of videomaster) when I send an audio source command. However, I have an ML/NL Converter set as audiomaster.

I had to change macros that use my BeoSystem 3 to have them send the commands through the ML/NL Converter.

Hello,

Did you have the errors with 1.5.3 or with an earlier version?

My problems started with 1.5.3, too. For me, the BLGW is not recognizing the video master. However, the video master (Beosystem 3) is still transmitting LIGHT and CONTROL commands.

I'm also finding that a BeoLab 3500 is no longer responding to macros that trigger the ALL STANDBY command. However, the 3500 is still responding to other macros and will respond to an ALL STANDBY button press used by the Beo4 on other ML products.

I have got a new corrected software from Beointegration. Now all makros and my beolab 3500 and everything works perfect. So if you have problems with the new 1.5.3 just ask for the corrected software and manually download it to the BLGW.

Hi,

New firmware on hue side!

The hue connection to the blgw failed every 20 sec. (blgw log) the hue bridge is nearly blocking. Only a disconnection between the blgw and the hue bridge help to control on hue side.

Any knowing issues with the blgw software and the new firmware of the hue system?

Changes in BLGW SW 1.5.4 since previous version 1.5.3:

New features

  • Support for Home Control menu on BeoVision Eclipse. Configure this in the BeoVision Eclipse Settings > Sound & BeoLink > BeoLink > BeoLink Gateway.

    • Added support for P+/P- on thermostats.

New & updated drivers

  • BeoLink driver:
    • BNR source and channel selection commands do not attempt to re-select a source that is already selected.
    • Corrected BNR channel selection command - Added a delay to favorites list that is executed only when the source effectively changes.
  • Clipsal driver: added Shade, Shade toggle and Shade GPIO.
  • Vantage driver: Solved an issue that would make the BeoLink Gateway disconnect from Vantage every 5 minutes

Hi everyone,

first impression of the latest release is not good. Upgrade went through without issue but post upgrade no users but the admin one can access the web panel or use the iPhone app.  So not exactly a well tested update. Does anyone else have the same problem.

Hi Again,

Managed to work out the issue with the web panel and it basically fails to load until the user has accepted the new T&C screen. Basically each user needs to visit the admin page of the gateway and logon and accept the T&C. After which the web panel and iPhone app start to work for that user.

I'm sure this is a feature but I'm not so sure because I would not want non-admin users having to access the admin setup pages in order to be able to use the iPhone app.

I hope the update does improve the stability with RadioRa 2. This has been an issue since the last update.

I see that no improvement has been made to the Home Control screen on BeoVisions. I had suggested to the team that they better organize the menu with submenus for dimmers, shades, thermostat, and scenes and use the color buttons to quickly access those submenus. As it is now, everything is lumped into one long list that you must scroll through. It seems odd that the menu shows icons for dimmers, shades, thermostat, and scenes, but you can't pull those up as submenus as you can in the iOS app.

I'm curious what the new BeoRemote One protocol entails. I've always thought that B&O would eventually need to at least enable use of the BeoRemote One for LIGHT/CONTROL commands via bluetooth on newer devices (in addition to BeoVisions) that no longer accept IR control.

Having now tested things (admittedly very quickly) I've found no issues with the upgrade once accepting the T&C for all users on the system (luckily not many). Control of Networklink and Masterlink products still works. BeoSound 5 cover art displayed nicely on the BeoLInk2 App. Macros continue to work which used to be my major concern with upgrades software, where previous releases have resulted in macros needing triggers re-saved.

The problem I've experienced with the later version of the BLGW software in that light and control commands from old Masterlink products are not processed by the gateway. This is still not fixed. However, B&O have previoulsy claimed there are no issues with the software even though all the Masterlink products I own work correctly among themselves and respond to ALL STANDBY which would suggest that cabling is not the issue.

With which mastering products are you having trouble? Are they connected to your network via NL/ML Converter? If so, some products connected via the converter (other than the master product that is connected to the BLGW via cable) will lose the ability to transfer LIGHT/CONTROL commands since that product is on a separate ML system than the BLGW. The solution for this is to connect an IR receiver to the NL/ML Converter and program the NL/ML Converter to forward LIGHT/CONTROL commands.

Hi,

Sorry for late reply, been away on holiday.

The problem is with a BV10-32. Its is cabled directly into the mastelrink and the send light commands to the BLGW is enabled. The product cannot be controlled from the BLGW nor send light commands to the BLGW.

Other masterlink products are BS5, BL3500 and the convertor. All seem to work and music can be shared between them and the converter correctly allows for TV and music to be shared between networklink and masterlink products.

Also I have tried to send light commands from the BS5 which also doesn't work. Initial B&O suggested a cabling issue but as the products can be controlled and play music correctly between themselves this seems unlikely.

How is your converter connected and is it set as V.Master? Is your BV10 set as V.Master? Remember that you can only have 1 V.Master in a ML system. If your BV10 and your converter are both set as V.Master, you will have a conflict. I had something similar to this happen when I had a converter connected to a BV10 to play a BeoSound Moment through its speakers and also had another converter used in another room as V.Master. In order to transmit LIGHT/CONTROL commands from the room with the BV10, I had to attach an IR eye to the converter connected to the BV10 and enable LIGHT/CONTROL forwarding through that converter.

BTW, I had to disconnect the BV10 ML cable from the ML system in the setup that I described. The converter connected to the BV10 then had a ML cable going directly from the converter to the BV10 -- essentially creating it's own ML system that was separate from the ML using the BLGW. All LIGHT/CONTROL to the BLGW went through that converter -- which was recognized by the BLGW via NL.

Updated new firmware yesterday. All went well. The Philips Hue driver update did fix an issue where an Innr light could not be addressed directly via the BLGW. So worth the update. Not much else to report.

How can you  update to 1.5.4.533 ? Mine has 1.5.4.491. When I go to the menu Tools/firmware and type "check for latest version", it says "1.5.4.533 is the latest version". typing "start online update" says "checking" and "preparing to download the latest version" (for 1 second, and than nothing happens ...  Tried tor restart etc, but no change in firmware version. I could do it manually, but then I need to know where to download the file...

I can't upgrade at all though the "online update"

I've tried hard resetting and switching back to DHCP to no avail.

Does anyone have (or know where to get ) a firmware file for anything greater than v1.4.1.20107 they can share?

Thanks!

I wonder if the new firmware update has anything to do with the new ML driver that seems to be for the BLI. Possibly for better ML integration with the BLI by interfacing a BLGW? I can't find any updated info on this in the FAQ section of Khimo's site. Nor on the Beointegration site.

Hello Jeff,

The update is suggested on the GUI of my BLGW / Tools / Firmware...

Especially the MJPEG stream handling improvements are quite important to me...
