Hi

I had in the current setup 5 pcs HIK Vision cameras connected to the HIK Vision box, but has changed this setup, so all cameras now are connected directly to the switch.

This gives acces from Blink Gateway.

Have anyone experience with HIK Vision cameras and Blink Gateway. The section Camera Access on the gateway must have the correct information to acces the cameras right.

I can get picture running on the Beolink2 app but not an the gateway's Webpanel, where I gets "Error loading camera..."

Best regards Rudi

That's strange indeed

Are you running a beta version of the app?

Possible that you need to make the cameras jpg format? Just some brainstorming.

Hi Rudi,

I had (and still have) the same issue with my Foscam Cameras - what helped was to clear the browser cache (Edge) or take another browser e.g. Internet Explorer (and – if necessary – clear the cache).

I just gave it a try:

Edge = "Error loading Camera" (--> Cleared the cache and it worked)

Firefox = "Error loading Camera" (--> Cleared the cache and it worked)

Internet Explorer = worked out of the box (not my preferred browser...)

Best regards

Doc Leisure

I have one HIKvision cam too and the quality of the picture is far away of being perfect. I am not a CCTV expert, so I've read many forums and realized that the stream address is different for every camera type. Unfortunately there were no easy way for me to understand what exactly to fill in the BLGW camera setup fields, and using OMVIF software is not straightforward for newbie. Thus I had to use Trial-and-Error method, but did not succeed so far. I believe there could be a good idea if HIKvision users who has a good picture could share their BLGW settings to simplify the life of others. I will post mine later, though, as I said, it does not give the good results.

Update:

Hi,

Use this link for the RTSP, fill in you ip and you get 1 camera. The other ones I need to figure it out but I get one in my gateway. Picture is horrible in the gateway app.

The thing is that my camera (Hikvision DS-2CD2E20F-W) is not in the list, so I need to improvise. The RTSP path

rtsp://192.168.0.64/Streaming/Channels/101 works for me, but the main question is what to put into the following lines for good image.

I have found the very nice explanation here, though not fully covering all aspects.

I will have somebody in to setup the rest of the gateway in a few weeks, let you know how he configures mine.

Do you use the ivms 4500 app on your phone?

My picture is really good on it

I have just installed ivms-4500 and tried. It works as expected with both hi-res and low-res.

It looks like when you are in the Zones mode of the BeoLink2 app (when you see all the zones of your system) and click on camera, it gives the hi-res image (main stream), so it looks quite good. However when you are inside of the one of the zones and click the camera, it gives you disappointing low-res image.

There's a hint on the forums, that to make the cameras work properly you will need to switch h.264 mode off and live with mjpeg. Well, my cam allows that for the sub stream, but not for the main one, that is always H.264.

... I have got the feeling that I will need to try Axis...

There's another hint in a BLGW pdf guide:

See tip in BeoWise > Link > BeoLink > BeoLink Gateway > TIPS > Supported IP cameras.
Note: The BeoLink Gateway is not supporting the H.264 format in cameras.

Is there anyone who is able to print here the list of supported cameras?

I suppose in my case it is the root of the issue, since the main stream in my camera is h.264. I can choose the mpeg for the secondary stream, but not for the main. The other good tip (from MLGW help) is

Low resolution URL field should point to a low bandwidth video feed, with resolution not exceeding 320x240px

PS. Some pictures from my setup are here.

I suppose the issue is in the fact that some Hikvision cameras stream only in H264 in a hi-resolution stream and BLGW does not support it.

I've managed to find the list of supported cameras from BeoWise, and Hikvision is not in the list. And the list also says "Beolink gateway does only support still image and Moving JPG. H264 and MPEG4 via rtsp is not supported"

So the solution is either change the camera, or to tweak it to get mjpeg from hi-resolution stream (asking at hikvision forums?).

The interesting fact is that in the list most of the cameras have either the same settings for the hi and low resolution paths:

mjpegHighResolutionPath: /nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=1280x960&Quality=Motion
mjpegLowResolutionPath: /nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=1280x960&Quality=Motion

or the second line is just empty

mjpegHighResolutionPath: /mjpeg.cgi
mjpegLowResolutionPath:

Hi Aleksei,

Do you have the list of cameras that work with the BLGW, as just upgraded to a BLGW and have just started to try and work out what cameras work with the system?

Thanks

Toby

As I understand, the list is far not complete. It looks like if some B&O installer succeeded with getting the camera working and reported it to the BeoWise, the camera goes to the list. However i am not 100% sure.

At the moment I am confident, that if camera supports MJPEG and with other notes above (see previous posts) any model will work. I have not noticed in URLs anything BLGW specific.

My own experience show that one should study at list basic ideas of connecting to the IP cameras - that will make the setting procedure conscious.

I still propose that users who managed their cameras work may post their settings in this forum, to make the life of others easier - i have posted mine. Not totaly sure, that publishing information that I have got from closed B&O source is ethical (for me personally).

Camera still not working on webbrowser in the BLGW. This is really anoying. I use hikvision 2332 camera’s / domes. You see them a lot in shoppingmalls and are good cameras

Got a tip for anyone who has got a ML BV and apple tv. Use VLC and RTSP stream you can view your camera on your Beovision.
