Since Spotify is no longer working on my Beosound 5, my B&O dealer has given me a Chromecast and sound card UCA222. Can someone help me on how to connect it.
The Chromecast is configured, and is working when connected to a Boose speaker.
I am connecting the USB from UCA222 to the video USB port on Beomaster. There are red light in the UCA222. With the cables I have been given, the only way to connect the UCA222 and Chromecast is to put the Chromecast cable into the earphone connection on the UCA222. I doubt this is correct. I don't have any sound from Beosound 5 when doing it this way. Beosound 5 is in A.AUX mode.
I hope someone can help. Thanks.
You guessed it right: Earphone is an OUTPUT not an INPUT.
As you can see on your interface there are two cinch / RCA connectors clearly labeled "INPUT".
You just need an adapter cable from 3,5mm stereo jack to 2x cinch / RCA plugs which looks like this:https://avsupply.co.za/images/product/1.5m_35mm_to_Stereo_RCA.jpg
Steve from Soundheavenly here on the forum can make you such a cable in every length you need and in good quality.
Thanks, buying a 2 Euro adapter cable made it work. Strange that B&O don't supply this together with the Chromecast and UCA 🤔
I received my kit (Chromecast+UCA222) today and have been struggling to make it work.
There are 3 USB ports on the BM5, one which connects to the BS5, and 2 which are free. I used one of those to connect the UCA222.
Connected the Chromecast audio to the input of UCA222 using a Cinch/RCA to Stereo Jack 3.5 mm adapter
Configured Chromecast to connect to the network
With a B&O remote, selected A.AUX, which indeed displays on the BS5 screen, and the B&O speakers turn. Choose Chromecast on the Spotify App, select a song, it start playing through Chromecast... but I can't hear any sound from the spakers!
Have I missed anything obvious here?
Got it to work. Just had to reboot the BeoMaster 5 to activate the USB port.
Nevertheless, I'm still missing the Jack to RCA cable. BeoCare confirmed that the cable should have been provided by the dealer along with the Chromecast and the UCA222...
