Hi Beoworlders my bc 9500 this morning decided to work only on two passive speakers , current set up is cx 100 on channels 1, Rl 1000 on channels 2,. Channels 1 left or right no sound swapped the speakers they are ok working in the other positions any idea ,help will be appreciated ! does it mean my amp only working on one channel? (half capacity)? ps mute works ok ,active speakers power 1 and 2 positions are all working. Many thanks
Hi,
I think you mean: pair 1 is not working while both channels are ok (right and left) on pair 2.
Perhaps you have a headphone plugged in? Or the speaker relay is defective, or the circuit around that relay
Hi ProGram yes pair 1, no i did not connect headphone to bc9500 i usually blasted the music, ,many thanks for your prompt reply
Any Idea how to get spares or from? if i need that relay?
I assume, you are not a skilled technician. Otherwise you should know, where to get electronic parts. You want to try it yourself? What you can do first is to look for bad solder joints.
Thanks again ProGram i was only trying to establish there is spare parts for the bc9500 and was economically worth repairing it i made initial inquiries been told charge£80/hour plus parts ,no i do not even have service manuals and no intension to repair it.
Any idea how much a relay cost and replacement if that is what at fault will be appreciated any more suggestions will be grateful for the advice
Common issue in this era of product - my 5500 has done the same - I just use speaker 2 which has no mute relay! I am sure you can get this and definitely worth it - the 9500 is the best audio product B&O have made IMHO - great sounding and the best ergonomics. Always sorry I got rid of mine - have to confess that I can't remember what I did with it - I think I gave it to a cousin!!
Peter
Thanks Peter
Maybe this old thread could be useful...

The relay doesn't cost much more than £2 but fitting it requires some engineering and soldering skills.

Thanks Steffen and joeboygolf for your reply i will bite the bullet I suppose will be cheaper than buying a replacement I have seen cheap ones lately and thought if that more cost effective 🙏
Is there anyone here sell spare parts required if service engineer cannot get hold of the offended item?or link to where can be optioned from? Spoke to one and said very difficult to get hold of spares apparently he quoted B&O had to destroy all their spares to comply with European law too much lead!!
