Hi, would like to start a new thread about Beovision Eclipse.

I hope that we will share all info that we know about this new Beovision and when it has arrived that we then share all pros and cons regarding this new OLED-TV.

What I know from a "save" source is that it will come both in 55-inch and 65 inch. It will be both wall bracket and floor stand available. 65-inch will cost less than Avant 75 NG.

Have a nice weekend!

Best Regards
Martin

If you look at that Danish forum discussion on the BL50, you can see photos (mockups, I assume) of the Eclipse and, if it looks like those mockups, there's no way I'd purchase one - the speaker looks awful.

Can anyone confirm, preferably someone who can read Danish, whether they are mockups or not?

Mockups!

I hate those renderings that just confuse people.

Trust me, they are scary mockups made by Peter Pan.

Cheers

A little bird showed me pictures from a presentation. It's not for everyone but it's a less dramatic departure from the BV10/11/14 than I expected.

I got confirmation too it will be 55" and 65" "only".

Peter Pan is a fanatic believer in a seperate speaker part.

His drawings of the (supposed) Eclipse are not only mock-ups, the are f*ck-ups ;-(

As important, anyone know the release date? I was told September? If only a month away, surprised there are no leaks anywhere!

Official launch is supposed to be at the IFA in Berlin early September.

They have a press confrence there on the 30th of August (if I remember correct).

I haven't heard anything about when it will be available in the shops, though.

Hello Marcello!

Little question: what do you mean by "It's not for everyone but it's a less dramatic departure from the BV10/11/14 than I expected."?

If you meet the litlle bird again, can you tell us if it is, like expected, based on the LG OLED Signature presented in Las Vegas 2017...and a simple one: is it a nice tool? Thanks a lot

Regards!

I've seen the  official pics of the TV and it's with all due respect awful.

It looks very much like the beovision 7. It's a TV basically with a long speaker at the lower bottom and a a glass-like material at the bottom.

Thank you for the quick answer; I hope at least it is nicer than the LG one...and that the loudspeaker is also nice. I also hope it will be worth the price...

I guess that's why he did the mock-ups!

As I've said before, my dealer saw the Eclipse in May and was a bit "meh" over it. Wasn't bowled over. He loved the BL50 though!

Didn't Flat Panels confirm that, though? They said TV and separate soundbar, underneath?

I actually liked the look of the BV 7, so if it looks similar and priced sensibly then I’ll be happy.

I don't think it will. The BV12 has a very lightweight centre speaker which is nothing like the soundbar under the BV7. I owned both and you could get away with simply using the BV7 speaker - no way you can do that with a BV12!

My understanding is that it's not an all-in-one TV either? I had the impression it was an LG-produced panel and separate connected soundbar, developed by B&O.

Oh.. interesting but does that mean its more for custom installations than normal homes

Don't believe so, why would it?

Many current TV sets have split the screen from the sound bar. B&O are doing exactly the same, and they will be sold as one I'm pretty sure. Even if there is the option to just buy the screen, don't see how that qualifies for custom install territory.

But again, I doubt the sound bar will be sold separately from the screen. The OS of the new TV I suspect will be designed to look for the bar, and then other speakers to create bigger groups.

Will find out soon I guess

Well, with a name like Eclipse, there must be something that hides/shows, otherwise it'd be a very bad name!

It could mean it Eclipses all their previous TVs!

(Or that the lights have finally gone off at B&O).

Ban boring signatures!

Maybe it simply refers to OLED and its "perfect" black quality...

Does someone have som form of picture or something that tells us something about how this new Eclipse really looks like?

I would also be interested in how the connectionpanel looks like (what type of connections there is - how many HDMI:s IN, Powerlink sockets etc. etc).

It is very strange that nothing about this tv has leaked to us yet.

Dealers have photos and some info, but they can't give it out. Some will show you if you ask, but they can't put them on a public website due to NDAs etc.

I think you're little birdie might have been referring to the Avant NG. I would compare that speaker movement with the AV5 personally, albeit on a smaller scale. Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

One thing that is surprising me is that people who have seen a photo of the Eclipse at their dealer are stating it's "awful" - see the thread from the person who is going to buy an Avant NG and also above.

Has anyone seen a photo at their dealer who *doesn't* think it's awful? And care to describe it?

My dealer says it is beautiful, "like B&O" can do". Of course, I will not ask him for more because I would not like him to be in trouble...

No no, we were talking about the Eclipse.

I suppose the speaker mechanism will have something of the current Avant thought like you say.

That's why I'm confused with Peter Pan mockup with an (awful) ordinary speaker bar.

One of the Asian TV manufacturer's sound bar has speakers that rise out of the bar (shades of BL50 !!) so maybe that's the approach we might see come September ?
