Is that the actual price of the tv £10,000 that seems a high price

That's what I've heard. Including motorised stand.

£7,995 for the 55" Eclipse and £1,945 for a motorised wall/floor/table stand as I currently understand it but this not confirmed so prices may be lower to official release.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

That would mean the 55" Eclipse on it's own would be the same price as the current 55" Avant NG but the motorised floor stand for the new Eclipse is dearer than the motorised floor stand for the Avant NG.

I wonder if the new motorised floor stand for the Eclipse has any new features to justify the higher cost?

£2000 for the stand that's seems excessive even for bang and olufsen the stands for the bvis 7 where a lot cheaper, and arguably better built back then

I must admit these prices are a lot more than I was hoping for, and even expecting. They may well be cheaper though at release, that is what I've been told. So these are just draft figures (if you will) for the moment so I have something to work with going forward.

I wonder, what do other members consider would be an appropriate and fair price for the new Eclipse (both sizes) and a motorised stand? Where do you see the TV in the current line up, at the top or under another? Curious...

Personally since we are discussing a rumoured and unreleased product.

Unless b&o brings something other than a b&o logo, half done speaker and a stand, they're way off base if pricing here is any guide. Beovisions of their latest offering are simply overpriced.Today's b&o is like Apple without the media support and marketing. i say this as also an apple user of almost three decades.

Still have hope as the Beosound Shape is something truely different from a long time coming.

Moment was a great idea, terrible execution.

Horizon, nice idea for a 300$ set priced at more than 20x that amount.

It's not 2005 anymore b&o wake up.Erm..

It's almost certainly a new Pro monitor, not a TV. Apple isn't going in to the TV business.

My dealer priced the 55 + Remote + Floor stand at 10500 CHF which is 500 more than the Avant. That's before a discount, we did not discuss yet (with no discount I'm buying in Italy and import the TV myself... it will be cheaper).

In all honesty I was expecting the price to be a good thousand bucks less. But remember that Switzerland is considered by B&O a "screw the customers more" market so applying the current exchange rate to find the price in Euros might not be appropriate.

Also, this price is with the speaker cover in fabric. Aluminum grille will cost much more (I think another 900/1000).

I find the cost of the stand unbelievably high (~1500 CHF or more can't remember but it's not too far from this number). The TV is much lighter than the Avant. It's like they are using the (compulsory) Floor stand or wall support to achieve profitability.

Also, not one but two coloured buttons on the Beoremote One. One for Netflix and one for Amazon.

After careful considerations, I think I would have been okay with 65 OLED @ close to $ 12,000 (Including stand) but it is coming in at $ 17,000 (Including Stand and fabric grill). At this price Sony 77 inch OLED seems like a better buy. Sony 77 inch OLED is pretty in it's own way with acoustic surface and subwoofer built into the stand. Regarding picture, I would give Sony an edge over the LG/ B&O. If B&O OLED 77 was available at 22,000-25,000 (Including stand and grill cover), I would go for B&O but since nothing is known at this stage, I would most likely pass on B&O 65 OLED.

To be fair, I think *every* country has this impression, outside of USD/EUR areas, primarily as companies know the GBP, CHF, SEK etc is always fluctuating against a big block such as the EUR, so they price accordinly. Britain is the same.

But...am I the only person who is perplexed by all this pricing up by dealers and pre-ordering? The TV hasn't been officially launched, we're not supposed to know what it looks like, yet some people know detailed costs and even things like price changes between speaker grilles! Seriously?

To be fair, I don't think the prices are "speculation". Give or take a few $'s, I think dealers clearly have a good idea of the forthcoming prices as they are quoting customers. i.e. they aren't going to be €1000 off.

The dealers will sure have a good idea about the pricing.

Nevertheless we read about different prices/pricing here.

But maybe it was the known details - like no curtains, LG made tv part etc - that BeoGreg was worried about in his post above?

We won't have long to wait, before all is official.

Correct - but there's a difference between dealers giving out some snippets of info and allowing customers to place pre-orders, choosing between types of speaker grille. That implies they know a *lot* more than we realise. So it's no speculation.

Loewe includes their own in house software, I think the Eclipse is bulk standard LG.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

After reading this thread with interest (as in I want the brand to do well, and I want this to be a killer TV which saves the day for all the dealers) I'm getting the impression that, as has now become the norm, people are questioning value for money.

I don't know the price, but it ABSOLUTELY MUST feel like it's worth the price when the TV is in front of you, and you're considering a purchase.

People who can afford a BeoVision Eclipse will need to be impressed. Even rich people have been conditioned to look for value for money these days..

The "man in the street" who used to save up for B&O in his 20's and 30's, and treat it as an aspirational purchase, is long gone. It's just the wealthy left now.

The wealthy don't throw their money around like they used to, either.

Fingers crossed for B&O, and the Eclipse.  It'll be the difference between some dealers closing the doors - or staying open.

I think many of us spent considerable amounts of money over the years in B&O gear. As such, it's only fair that dealers share some info (especially about pricing) especially when they know you are considering switching to a different brand. They have seen the TV in person (either in Struer or in the major countries HQs) and they of course have an exact idea of the pricing. The figure I mentioned for my case came from their sales software, so it's not speculation. They have a complete internal presentation about the TV as well as all the technical details and a comparison with other high-end TV. It would be naive to assume they'd lack this kind of information before the new product goes on sale. They know they are losing customers and they need to do something about it. Better training is one... My dealer found out what HDR is at the eclipse presentation. That says a lot about their attitude over the past few years.

Oh, and by the way matrix support will be in Q4. And as for the internal software, the core is WebOs but dressed in B&O fashion (I did not see this, I was just told)

I guess people are not conditioned, just very well informed in the Internet age. That's why it is impossible to charge some insane markup even to the ones who have plenty of money to spend.

Not because they can't, but because it insults their intellect. I guess B&O still needs to accept that new reality.

You nailed it. Less people buy B&O "just because it's B&O". While the design might be timeless, the internals aren't anymore.

Well said my friend.

I am one of the B&O fan boys and have been with the brand for a long time. I was actually planning to go for Avant 85 two years back and when I started hearing about the HDR and realized that Avant is lacking that capability, I passed on buying the Avant and have been waiting for B&O TV with HDR , which is even more critical jump in quality that just increasing the pixels. Once I got the details on Eclipse (BTW, Dealers have full details on pricing and options etc.) I was not impressed with the value proposition. I have no doubt it will be a good TV but so are LG / Sony OLEDS (I have first hand experience of these TVs as I bought them for my son and daughter). The delta in pricing, for refernce, is that one can buy the 65 inch LG for $ 2700 in the US. Eclipse 65 will be close to $17,000. I know all about B&O sound but nothing can bridge the gap between $2700 and $ 17,000. I am now actively considering Sony 77 inch which can be had for slightly less than B&O 65 Eclipse. I will just need to get my Beolab 5 plugged into the new setup and will have the phenomenal B&O sound with Phenominal Sony Picture. Alas, 2 years of wait has only resulted in me heading to other brand for the TV. Will stay in B&O family for sound though. Currently investigating the possibillity of buying Beolab 50.

Went to my local dealer on staurday asking about the Eclipes and was told it was a lg tv with a 480 watt sound bar fab sound, but an lg tv on its own and the sony was better but if you had b and o speakers then the Eclipse became a bit more and not just a lg.

Thing is its an oled an b and o oled so should have the speaker connections, the surround sound and nl/multiroom built in which no lg's have so that makes it  more of a b and o tv also the shape/ design look will not be lg.....when the wait is over we will all know.

I’m also someone who have been a B&O enthusiast for several decades, but ending up waiting for a new B&O TV which actually worth the money.

I thought it would have happened last year with the new Beovision 14-55 but just disappointed realizing it not even have the implement of HDR and worst of all it have terrible (In my eyes) outdated video processing, close to the screen everything is washed out and blurry with no fine details e.g. In people's faces or practically with objects in motion.

In the years to wait for a new TV, I also had the pleasure getting familiar to other brands and especially SONY has very good video processing and all in all excellent picture quality (We have two SONY in our house now) just a little sad that they don’t know how to make a good remote control and Android is another thing.

Unfortunately I can only agree, that with the price for the 65’ Eclipse on a floor stand, it will be my final goodbye for B&O television but still keeping B&O sound.

My plan is buying a Loewe Bild 5.65 (Build in 5.1 surround decoder) and the new Almando box made for Loewe TV and B&O speakers, it take Loewe’s digital audio signal and what I know it should be able to handle HD sound from a bluray player connected to the tv and all the way to B&O speakers.

It’s just sad B&O still not have learned to make value for money and provide a foundation for their continued survival in the business.

the video processing on the high end Sony's is quite brilliant isn't it?

I swapped my 14-55 for an Avant (pre Android), and it is quite a bit better - which raises the question of the panels chosen for the newer TVs. Such a shame, as the 14 design is quite beautiful.

I imagine the Eclipse though will be pretty impressive - if LG screen tech has got such good reviews over the last couple of years, the B&O OLED should be a similarly excellent picture. The price etc and value over and above the LG etc TV is another thing.

If the Eclipse is based on the best LG oled panel, that panel itself would count for appr 60-70% of the total price of the Eclipse, or? The high end 65" LG oled panels aren't inexpensive....

Anyone who knows the details about these LG oled panels if there is any differences, because all tv reviews with this years pressent panel from LG tells that there are no differences between e.g. B7 or the E7 in picture quality.

But anyway the B&O dealers are clearly explaining, that the Eclipse is using the best available panel from LG. Maybe they just mean this years panel and not the panel from last year.

There is no difference in the panels in B7 or E7. Exactly same panel. In fact, there is no difference in any of the OLED panels, all the way from B7 to G7 and between the brands (LG / Sony / Loewe etc..). What will be different is the Video processors used by different manufacturers. On this front, I think SONY wins the battle .

Indeed, however as others have stated in this thread, B&O will be using LG’s own video processing for the Eclipse unlike Sony, Loewe, Panasonic and others which have developed their own proprietary video processing solutions for the LG OLED panels they’re using in their OLED TVs.

I still think B&O has missed a huge opportunity here in developing a new video processing solution for the Eclipse.

To be fair, we don't know if B&O has partnered with LG to improve their existing video processing engine. I know LG is manufacturing (and supplying the TV component), but I'd be stunned if they just accepted an "out of the box" solution.

Of course, all the B&O connections will most likely be powered from the soundbar/speaker component, but I wouldn't be surprised if B&O has had some input into the engine and software, at least in an advisory role.
