Hi, this may be impossible and is a slightly hypothetical question. I am mooving to a smaller house, and I am thinking of getting the beolab 14 for my beovision 7, and connect the Beosystem in such a way that I have only one set of speakers in the livingroom, connected to the beovision. The problem with that setup is that the beomaster 5500 cannot be set to "option 0", and does not have a powerlink to switch the BV on. I know beomaster 6500 can do this, and I happen to have one laying around that does not work properly anymore.
But, since they are similar, I thought perhaps someone here can tell me if it is possible to combine the functionality of BM6500 (powerlink connections, option 0, 2-way for beolink5000), with the beomaster 5500? I guess it would be easiest to just use the beomaster 6500 as a base, get a riaa in between my beogram 5500 and the beomaster 6500, and replace the front and top to match with the beosystem 5500, but I am almost done with completely recapping the BM5500 ( thanks to dillen's parts!), and as I said, the BM6500 does not work properly so I rather start from the fully functional BM5500.
Before exploring this further, there are two things that I would like to know:
- would I loose the functionality of the master control panel in option 0? (I like that device!)
- does it actually make any sense to listen to music on the beolab 14.5? Or should I hold on to the redline 60.2, and set my beovision to option 0 to have all music and stereo tv sound come from the beomaster?
Sorry for the many questions here! Thanks in advance!
