Most of our installation we use Cat 7 shielded.
Normaly Cat 6 wil be more then efficient, cat 7 you can use when you go for longer distance. Bot are shielded. (cat 5 not)
Hi Hessel75,
Standard Cat 5e and Cat 6 Ethernet cables are designated as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables, which means they are unsuited for use with Beolab speakers. Special STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) versions of Cat 6 can be used, or Cat 7 cables which should always be shielded.
Using standard unshielded Cat 5/6 cables can really ruin the sound of your superb Beolab speakers, as these cables can pick up huge amounts of interference from nearby electrical devices.
As with all analogue audio cabling, the usual wiring rules apply if you want good results:-
1) Keep the cables as short as reasonably possible (ideally less than 20m) and ideally within one room only.
2) Ensure that they are fully shielded, with the shield connected throughout the cable length.
3) Don't run the cables within 100mm of any mains power wiring and avoid parallel runs with mains wires.
4) Don't run the cables back to a patch panel, network switch, router or other device used for your data wiring.
Alternatively, using standard Powerlink cables will always give you good results if you are in doubt.
Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve,
Does it mean I can buy any Cat 7 cable from market for use with Beolab speakers?
Thank you.
