Apologies for the naive question but I can not obtain a solid response from my dealer. I have a 2014 Avant and often use my Oppo UDP-203 as a source. The Oppo can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio but the Avant can only decode Dolby Digital/Plus and DTS.
If I send the audio from the Oppo to the Avant using the LPCM mode (vs. Bitstream) so the Oppo sends the decoded signal, does the Avant transmit the audio as Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio? Even though the Input Format on the Avant shows "PCM 5.1" for example, can someone confirm if the Avant is performing additional processing of the Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio signal or is it transmitting exactly what it receives from the Oppo?
The OPPO decodes DT HD and DTS-HD to LCPM 5.1 or 7.1 (depends of the BlueRay disk). The Avant (2014), BV11 and BV 1 transmit the signal without any additional processing.
