we tried to use a pair of Lab3 as an amplified zone for a multiroom system a while ago. Ended up with a ground loop.
Dropped the case.
in another setup, we had no trouble wiring four BeoLab something speakers to the pre-outs of a Denon receiver.
but is powerlink symmetrical ? I see left right and ground pins. No left+/-
how does the signal survive the long runs without catching hums ? Shielding ? Individual foils in Cat6 wiring ?
No, NL was/is symmetrical. But powerlink cable is schielded!
And PL is 6.5V peak to peak, as opposed to line being 2V.
That's good for the Signal/Noise ratio. Now I wonder if any company makes a line to PL *active* converter, with the needed signal boost (otherwise the SNR is not so good, and max volume neither).
