Hello all,

I have a Beovision 10 and recently bought a Beovision 6-22 from LifeStyle AV. A great little tv for in the bedroom! I connected it to the Beovision 10 by masterlink and RF cable. I even managed to get video from my Philips BluRay player on it, by using a HDMI splitter with one output connected to a HDMI to scart video downscaler, which is connected to a seperate scart input on the Beovision 10.

Ofcourse I can not use the Beo4 remote to control the Philips BluRay player in the living room, from the bedroom. But I have been thinking. What if I would have one IR transmitter cable with two plugs? The IR transmitter placed on the BluRay player and the two plugs connected to the PUC inputs of both the HDMI & Scart inputs on the Beovision 10.

Would this work over the masterlink cable from the Beovision 6-22 to the Beovision 10?

Thank you very much in advance for your thoughts!

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

Why not just add a second IR cable?  You should be able to mount the tow IR transmitters 'stood-off' from the Bluray's sensor but side by side.  The IR signal should be strong enough.

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

Why not try adding a second IR cable.  Mount both IR transmitters 'stood-off' slightly from the IR sensor of the Bluray player - the IR signal should be strong enough.

The problem is that I live in a rented apartment. When I moved in, I discovered to my joy, that there was a masterlink cable and RF cable hidden under the living room floor onwards to the kitchen, both bathrooms and into the bedroom. So after a lot of soldering, I have installed Beolab 2000's in the kitchen and both bathrooms.  Also the Beovision 6-22 in the bedroom. Regretfully I can't put in a second IR cable. So therefore I came up with the split IR cable idea.

But the extra IR cable only needs to run from the BV10 to the Bluray - so that it can control the BR when it's SCART input is selected.  This input would then be 'broadcast' over ML to the BV22.

Or am I totally confused by your setup ...?

Thank you very much! I did not think of that properly. I did not realise that the IR signal would go over the masterlink cable from the the BV6-22 In the bedroom to the BV10 and BluRay player in the living room. I will order one and try it out.

No problem.  You could of course test the concept with the current IR cable by moving it across to the relevant SCART input.

Just switched a IR transmitter cable to the PUC assigned to the scart input. It's working! Thank you very much for your help.

The great thing about your advice is that I went further and connected the BluRay to both HDMI port B & Scart input 2. I also connected the British Telecom Youview Box in the same way to input  A & 1. They both work perfectly now on the BV6-22 in the bedroom. I can even control Netflix. It's just perfect and I don't need any extra IR transmitter cables.
