Be interesting to hear. We don't have that facility in Australia

I wouldn't expect it to be great, given its being discontinued

Although if people perceive the Eclipse as too expensive, maybe some dealers will be willing to pay a reasonable price

That's about what I would expect after the shite offer B&O gave me for my BV11 (mk4).

With new TV margins as poor as they are, we have to make a little on trade-ins, and also have to offer warranties....

Look at eBay &gumtree and see what people selling it for! fraction of the full price , had a friend gave away 7-40  MKII stand speakers  the lot for free!!.No one really want them unless you are in the business/reseller cash generators  etc!! and you know where to sell to.Most people can not be bothered with the hassle and time wasters, he offered me it did not want  it either!!!i could make few bob out of it but not that way inclined!!Surprise

I have a superb 7-55mk2 with 4 pairs of 3D glasses, hardly been used, on EBay for a client and can't get £3500 for it...

With both the second hand market so deflated and also  as you say the new TV margins are poor combined with new products available on-line, how on earth is a B&O dealer supposed to make a living?

I agree with StUrrock and really feel for dealers, some of whom are fantastic in terms of their customer relations and their offers, both of which I have experienced several times first hand. B&O just aren't making products that are eye catching, relevant or interesting anymore; not in the same historic way in my opinion.

£3,500 for a BV7-55 Mk 2 is such a good price for that television and I even find myself tempted but having had a BV7-40 it wouldn't feel like a change, so not for me. If it's not selling at this price there's a very clear message here and as sad as it is to say, but this is why Lee was forced out of business too. I feel it won't be long before we see more dealers closing.

The magic has truly gone. I honestly believe this and I am not just throwing out a critical or harsh comment for the sake of it. I want to be positive, really, but I am struggling.

I find the cheaper more mainstream TVs actually far more compelling and interesting than B&Os offerings. I am even questioning whether I 'can be bothered' to buy a Loewe or a 2014 Avant now. The competition has caught up and I am not sure what B&O can offer now on top of the already brilliantly designed and capable products. As we are currently discussing in the Eclipse thread, it seems obvious to many (though not all) that a lot more than just a soundbar addition is needed. I can't be bothered because it seems like B&O can't be bothered, there is a knock on effect. Such a shame.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I only trade-in late model products that I know I can make a small profit on. Older stuff like the 7-55, I put on EBay on the clients behalf and give them the proceeds of the sale less fees. This works for me. I get paid in full for the new product and the client gets some cash for their old product...

Sigh, Remember when buying from any retailer that they have to incorporate 20% VAT. That in itself is over £1000 on that sale.

You are more than welcome to go out there, set up a B&O franchise with your own cash, then finance the cost of maintaining a bricks & mortar retail store and then make a profit to keep everything afloat. Give it a go, report back and let us know how you get on?
