Hi,

The IR control of my V1-32 progressively stopped working. First, I couldn't turn on the TV with any remote (Beo4/6). Had to use the BeoLink App instead to control the TV. However, after a few minutes, the IR control was again possible.

This went on for a few weeks, but now the IR control is no longer possible, even after a few minutes on. I can only use the Beoremote or the BeoLink Apps. Of course, I have tried the remotes on another V1; it just works fine. I also did several mains reset, but didn't help.

Has anyone had this issue? Can the IR control be dead while all the rest just works fine?

Thanks.

I had this issue with my V1-40, not able to use the remote anymore, only the app. Dead IR receiver in TV, they fixed it under warranty and on the invoice it was mentioned they had to change the motherboard.

I'm afraid you have to bring the TV to your dealer and hope the repair will not be that expensive.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

Glad to read this (sorry for you guys but helpful for me) as I was about to pull the trigger on a secondhand V1-40. I might reconsider!

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Did some investigation and found that the problem could be solved by replacing the module IR Receiver & Room Awareness (PCB58). It's a small module which is located on the top on the TV.

Really?

It's easy to do but where can you buy this PCB?

Your dealer will be able to provide you with the module.

Not yet, although it arrived for some time at the B&O store, but they need to go to the post-office to ship it to me. That's seems to be a BIG problem Crying...

Received the module yesterday (it's indeed the one in the picture), replaced it in the TV... but alas it still does not work. I can't control via the remotes my V1-32.

Contacted the dealer again who now says that I need to replace the entire motherboard (PCB01 Video Engine).

I prefer not to think about the cost of this repair. On top of that B&O does not take back the IR module I purchased and which was recommended by support after the early (wrong) diagnosis...Angry

I love the way B&O is handling their (still remaining) customer!
