Hi

My Beocenter 9500 it self is humming with, I presume, 50 Hz noise, even when in standby.

Any idea on how to kill this "low noise"?

Best Regards

Unfortunately quite common. The hum comes from the mains transformer.

An easy thing you can try is switching the Beocenter voltage setting to 240V (if you now live in a 230V country!). If it wasn't sold in the UK, it most probably is set to 220V and so is running on a slight overvoltage now. Disconnect the mains plug first before turning the selector.

Some other cures worth trying are putting it on softer feet (I hear squash balls cut in half work great Wink ) or trying a different table / desk / shelf under it.

The other fixes will require disassembly. I'm not totally sure if the transformer in these Beocenters is mounted on rubber grommets, but if it is, those may be hardened or disintegrated now. The voltage switch made mine silent enough that I haven't bothered to look into it.
