Good evening,
This is my first post as I need some advice! I just purchased a lovely Beogram 4000 which has at some point had the wires stripped and standard phono connectors put on it. I need to connect it to the back of my Beocenter 9500 but the connectors are not the same. There appears to be an old phono socket on the back of the 9500 (with 7 holes/pins in the back?). Is it possible to strip the turntable wires again and get something that will enable me to connect them.
Apologies if I am using the wrong terminology but I'm no expert (this is probably clear from the post!).
Alternatively, would this work?

I haven't been on here 10 minutes and I'm already replying to my own posts!
Yes! You need a 5 pin DIN plug - if you are a complete beginner see if you can get someone to do it for you. Don't take the phono plugs off as you will need to work out which wire is which to solder to the DIN plug connections. There will be an earth wire and this needs to be soldered to the casing of the DIN plug. The wiring diagrams are avilable either in the service manuals or a generic plug on Beotech.

That would work but you will need an earth wire from the Beogram to the Beocenter or you will get hum. You actually only need a 5 pin DIN as the 4000 has no remote control which is carried in the 6 and 7 pins. Rather an expensive and slightly Heath Robinson solution.
Thanks for the advice Peter, much appreciated. Being a complete beginner I'm not entirely sure what you are talking about but I know a guy who will! I'm not too familiar with DIN plugs. Which part of the DIN plug would fit into the 9500?
Would it not be easier to use the lead on the ebay link above, connecting it to the 9500 TV/Aux Socket? Sorry for all of the questions
Cheers Peter. I know exactly what you are talking about now.
