beocenter 9500

I have a beocenter 9500 and i can only get sound from the left speaker when i play the cd or radio , it works fine in both speakers when i play tape ! i have had a look inside for any loose wires blown fuses etc but cant see anything obvious , if anyone has any ideas it would be a great help ,

ps i have tried playing around with the balance , volume etc but it didn't seem to make any difference 

UPdate . After reading some posts i have taken the pcb 62 off and had a look at the soldering , c1 and c2 where loose so i have resoldered them and as many as i could on the rest of the board . once i have put it all back together now i get sound from my left speaker but only humming from the right one now !!?? 

 I have obviously done something to it when i dismantled it if anyone has got ANY  ideas i would be very grateful ,    thanks 

sorry i meant to say i am getting sound now from the Right speaker !!  which makes it all the more confusing as that was the speaker  that i was getting no sound from originally ??

Does tape still work?

tape still works , but only from right speaker . there is no sound from the cd or radio now .

after reading some more threads on this forum , i think i might check the Capacitors on the board just next to the transformer , at least i think they are capacitors ?? , if anyone has any idea how i test them properly it would be of great help , Cheers

I suggest you look into the service manual and locate where the different voltages connect to the pcb #60 with all op amps. Then follow each so that you get the right voltage span on the op amps. The service manual indicates what voltages you should expect. Then work backwards from there, checking the rectifier pcb etc if the voltages do not match.

thanks for the help , as you can probably tell im a bit of a novice when it comes to electronics so hopefully i wont blow it all up !!

No offence, but I would suggest having professional look at it, unless you're confident enough and have some electronic experience,  not objecting to follow the service manual and checking voltage etc on the other end , but from my experience it would be simple enough for professional to rectify the problem (before any attempts has been made, than afterwards) and won't end up blowing it

Hi, Ofcourse this is something that should not be attempted unless you know your way around electronics in general. A powered BC 9500 will have 220v around the PSU board. That shall be treated with respect if the unit is open in service position. So it is a matter of knowing your limits and then decide to have a technician look at it or not. Best regards, Mikael

I checked the voltages on the pcb 60 and it didnt seem to tally with the manual so i think i might take it to a repair shop , thanks for all the advice , i will leave an update when i get it going , hopefully !
