Hi, I would like to make some speaker cables. I have c40 speakers and just want to purchase the connectors (I can solder them to speaker cable). Does anyone know of anywhere that sells these connectors in the UK?
Hi, yes Maplin do or, try beocable on eBay :)
Don't worry - be Happy
thank you.
Make sure you got decent ones since the plastic housing melts quite easily when you have to solder them!
Brengen & Ophalen
Agree with Leslie - best is to have them make Beocable is good place and reasonable, don't buy the cheap once on eBay
It is possible to buy those DIN speaker plugs with screw terminals, so you don't even need to solder.
Yes, but by the love of GOD don't they are total rubbish

There are several types of DIN speaker plugs with screws. I agree that some of them are rubbish. I once bought some cheap ones that were useless -it was impossible to fasten the cables...I had to throw them out.But some are really good -even with room for some quite thick cables. I will gladly post some pictures of mine.
Thanks for all the info
also wanted to ask about speaker cables - Any recommendations?
And here it is:
-as you can see, room for some good cables. And certainly easier than soldering.
I have to admit, they look "solid" - sometimes I need temporary connectors and they will do the job (unlike that rubbish I've bought from Maplins) are there male version available? - give us link please (email would do nicely) ;)

... Steffen's picture is showing exactly the DIN Plug you can order as a B&O sparepart, and yes, male is also available...
Check here male and female plugs
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Come on Søren, keep up - I've said I've bought those and they're c... (no space for wires, tiny screws and covers split as soon as you put them on base)

Thank you Vienna. I'm glad to hear that the ones B&O sell are the same good quality ones
I bought mine at a local Electronics shop 5-6 years ago. One has to be careful when buying on the net, as you can't always know the quality of the plugs you'll find there.
Sorry haven't got clue what you mean by top-posting

This is the way we like it. The QUOTE on the top, so QUOTE first and then your text/answer.

Well at least the ones I bought a few month ago - sometimes suppliers discontinue HQ products and replace them by cheaper versions - "Geiz ist geil" is the ad of a big multibrand chain in Austria ...
