I apologize if this question has been discussed in an earlier forum entries, but if you are an experience BeoSound 5 user, you will have me the answer very quickly.

I have my music collection on a Mac Mini that is attached to Masterlink via a BeoPort. All works fine, I have no reason to change the setup apart from the fact that I find the Beosound 5 very beautlful. I wouldn't want to go for the Encore because I have a multiroom setup.

So my questions mostly turn around file formats:

Will the BS5 accept AAC (not lossless)? How does he deal with the embedded artwork? I understood that the BS5 will not play DRM-protected AAC, but unprotected content purchased from iTunes store should work fine?

I understand that ALAC (Apple Losless) is not supported. I could convert those files to FLAC. Will the BS5 accept FLAC 16bit and 24bit? What do I have to do that BS5 presents the artwork?

Thank you and kind regards

Stefan

All your questions can be answered with YES, if you install Twonky Media 6.0 or higher on your Mac Mini.

Sell your Beoport. There is no reason to use it if you have a BS5.
