I have been reading with interest the discussion about the new Eclipse. I have now seen one and have to say it looks much better in real life than it does in any of the images I have found online. That said its not really a B&O TV is it? I see it as an LG TV with a beautiful stand and sound bar that can easily integrate with my other B&O equipment.
I am struggling to pay such a premium for the Eclipse so I looked around for an alternative and found this

The Almando Multiplay Decoder
I am thinking of buying an LG 65B7V OLED and then linking it to my existing BeoLab 5’s front BeoLab 3’s rear BeoLab 2 Subwoofer and BeoLab 7.2 centre.
Has anyone used this decoder before or have any knowledge about it?

Will the BeoLabs work directly with the Loewe?
Mikipedia:And how would one connect beolabs to the loewe tv?
Hi Mikipedia,
For stereo sound, you can connect two Beolab speakers directly to the Loewe headphone socket (as per any non-B&O TV).
For surround sound, the Loewe TVs have a surround sound decoder fitted with a digital output, marked as "DAL" (Digital Audio Link). First, you need a DAL to Audiolink adapter and an Audiolink Breakout cable from your Loewe dealer. I can then provide cabling to connect any combination of Beolab speakers (up to 5.1 channels) to these Loewe adapters.
In the case of this enquiry with Beolab 5, 3, 2 and 7.2 speakers, the following cables would be used (please note that the Loewe TVs can only drive the Beolab 7-2 in mono when used with external front and rear speakers):-
Front Beolab 5 speakers: http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/6-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-rca-line-in.html
Rear Beolab 3 speakers: http://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/105-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-using-the-powerlink-din-sockets.html
Beolab 2 subwoofer: http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/101-singletwin-rca-to-beolab-2-7-10-2500-powered-trigger-kit.html
Beolab 7-2 centre speaker (mono): http://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/101-singletwin-rca-to-beolab-2-7-10-2500-powered-trigger-kit.html
Please note that the Beolab 5 speakers will require a B&O remote to activate them before use and a Sync cable should be connected between them to keep the speaker volume levels matched: http://soundsheavenly.com/beolab-5-beolab-50-and-beolab-90/41--sync-beolab-5-.html

Do you know anything about the Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder?
I really like the Loewe but at £9000 for the 65inch plus the hassle to make it work I feel like I might as well buy the Eclipse
jvdl:Only a hughe price difference between the BS4 and Almando Multiplay Decoder.......
BeoSystem 5 would be the complete answer as it would be 4K and I would be happy to pay more. Word is that B&O are set to close their television development department in Struer so I can't see the BeoSystem 5 becoming a reality. If anyone knows otherwise please speak up.
End of the month I'm going to order the Almando Multiplay Decoder. After all challenges with my Moment I want to be in control over what music streamer or television I use in the future. I think the decoder will give me the flexibility I need and I'm happy with 5.1 setup only.

Norwin

According to the Almando site its doesn't have to be 5.1 all the time.
Stereo sources and a surround loudspeaker system
If your TV is active and a broadcast with surround sound is playing, then everything will play in the 5.1 mode - on the two front speakers, the two rear speakers, the center as well as the subwoofer.
If you listen to a stereo source (such as the B & O audio system or your Sonos Connect), the multiplay surround will also produce a room-filling sound - the music will automatically be played back on all 4 surround speakers including the subwoofer in SPEAKER 4 mode

I hope the thread finds someone who has one or has installed one.
BL50's up front will be great but I'm sure you would be better off with some rears even if they are something really compact like BL4000's or BL3's. I have a BL7.2 I could use as a centre speaker but will probably buy a BL10.
@Chris T: I can't get my head around the difference between Bild 5 and Bild 7 can you? I assumed Bild 7 was later technology as the number is higher and it has motorised table and floor stands, but from reading various articles online I think they are saying the Bild 5 is a more recent OLED panel but without the gimmicks? What's going on! What is the best 55" Loewe set at the moment and price? Cheers, Simon.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

It's closed, not closing? The BeoSystem 5 won't happen as there's no requirement for it.
Far as I know there wil not come a BeoSystem 5...
Sorry moxxey I not saw your answer already

Iam pretty sure the bild 7 has the "lg e6" screen as it supports 3d, except for the bild 7 77" that had the "lg w7" screen. The bild 7.55 and 7.65 are older models, i've seen them last year (october) both look very nice though, also the motorised screen. It moves up to reveal the soundbar. The bild 5 oled range has the "lg b7/c7" screen. As it does not support 3d anymore. Lg took the polorised filter out to make the screen able to show more brightness. Iam fairly certain about this, but not 100%

Folks, there is really no difference between various OLED screens in terms of the picture quality. All 2017 panels do not have 3D. Difference between BILD 5 & 7 Is all about the additional features like motorized stand / Panel , A bit more powerful sound bar "120W versus 80 W" and some nicer finish at the back with fabric covers etc,
Sounds easier just to buy an Eclipse...since Loewe also uses an LG screen. At least its an all in one solution.

....and maybe that is the reason for B&O making the Eclipse as it is ;-)

Hi Steve,
Would you know if it's possible to send an on/off signal to the beolabs using the AudioLink solution? I currently have a set of BeoLab 4's for my computer, and at very low volumes, they tend to switch off, or don't automatically switch on when a video is played at this low volume. I don't really mind that they switch on slightly too late when I start playing something on the computer, but when watching a movie, I really wouldn't like to have eg. rear speakers waking up too late because they fell asleep when no sound was going there.
Is there a solution for this?
Not sure if this Almando kit takes care of this. If it does, it may be a solution. However will this box send subwoofer signals to the front speakers if no sub is installed? (Thinking of BeoLab 9's in the front.)

Hi crossbytje,
I haven't used the Almando kit (I did try to contact Almando several times in recent years to discuss their kits, but they didn't reply to any of my requests - not sure why?) so unfortunately I cannot comment on the Almando products. Hopefully they would reply to your enquiry if you contact them directly with any questions?
In theory we could look at developing a circuit to take the 12 volt trigger from the Loewe TV Audiolink output and using this to activate the Beolab speakers, but this isn't something we have ready to build for you as of today. My current solution would use the "Line" mode for speakers that have this option and the other speakers (centre and subwoofer) would be triggered via a manually controlled trigger voltage. Please contact me via my sponsor link below if triggering the speakers from a Loewe TV is something that is of serious interest to you and I will be pleased to start the development work for this.
I use this cable via Loewe Audio LInk:
It gives you Subwoofer, Center, Front and Rear (so for 2 front speakers you need another adaptor or you need to attach one front speaker to the other -- if 2 powerlink sockets are available on the speaker)..
Beolabs switch on and off with TV.

Currently, I'm still waiting for my older LG to die. When it does, it will probably be replaced by a Loewe OLED. I guess I'll start by using the Line IN and see how it copes with the rear channels. (Fronts won't be a problem I guess, the delay before switching off is long enough.)
If it doesn't work to my expectation, I will surely reach out to you. Thanks!
Hi Ralf,
They are probably setup to automatically switch on as soon as there's a signal on the line IN of the speaker. Do you ever have the problem of rear speakers switching off while watching movies?
Folks
until now we have been exploring only the wired coinnections. Does anyone know if there is a way to link the Loewe TV wireless capability with B&O wireless speakers. At the end of the day, I am sure some techie know the answer and this would seriously help those who have the later. / newer B&O speakers with wireless.
Hi svinaik,
Yes, you could add Beolab Transmitter 1 to the Loewe TV, you would then also need the DAL to Audiolink converter and the Audiolink Breakout Adapter mentioned above from Loewe to give analogue surround sounds outputs to the Transmitter 1.
I think I am beginning to agree. The Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder doesn't sound like a big seller in the UK hence the lack of response on this site. I'm not sure the Loewe option is right for me so it sounds like I best go all in and buy the Eclipse to guarantee what will hopefully be a seamless integration with my beolabs.
Thanks for all the guidance and feedback.

Hi BeoBang
I'm in the exact same situation like you are, I have been waiting for years for a new Beovision which actually worth the high price and is very frustrated with the premium price for the Eclipse 65' so have been working on an alternative with Loewe Bild 5 and the new Almando switch made especialy for B&O speakers and Loewe tv were its using the digital audio link and should be able to handle HD sound from a bluray player connected to the tv.
But like everyone else has experience with Almando, they are nearly impossible to get in contact to, only once it has succed for me and it did not realy feels like they could answer my questions.
so even the price is high, I feel also I need to end up buying the Eclipse to get the best out from my Beolab 5 speakers in the front and Beolab 4000 rear.
Actually after reading your last post here, I have made my final decision, even it's a painful amount of money. Just hope it will satisfy for many years to come.🙂
Good luck with your choice too.

Hi Steve, Just to confirm the set up with BL 50, Do I need 2 sets of cables or one. The connections at the back of Transmitter 1 are RJ 45 type and the photo of what Raul showed was a DAL to Old Powerlink type connector. I would sincerely appreciate a picture / SKU of the cable you described.
On another point, Since the BL 50 right and left connections go directly to the master speaker, will I be setting up the both the wireless channels to the Master speaker and then using the BL 50 set up to separate the right and left. ?
For Beolab 50 (and 90), all connections go to the Mater speaker. If you are just using one pair of Beolab 50s, then you can simply take a single S/PDIF cable from the Loewe TV to the Master speaker, no extra adapters are needed:-
http://soundsheavenly.com/beolab-5-beolab-50-and-beolab-90/34--spdif-.html
I would always recommend cabling the Master speaker to the Slave speaker with an RJ45 shielded cable instead of using them wirelessly:-
