Have you seen the people nervously clapping behind Kim Jong Un
They say everything is great too haha

I hope they do sell a lot of eclipses, and so on
I'm sure the 6-8 weeks is because that's because they build them to order. In Australia there is no stock on hand what so ever, everything is order and then you WAIT

seethroughyou: "There really hasn't been a better time for B&O like the present" "We can't sell enough Eclipeses, had them on preorder, there're doing really well, sold 3 just this weekend gone" "Sold a lot more BL90s than I expected, 4 pairs just in the last few months... you'll have to wait 6-8 weeks, may be longer from Denmark if you want a pair I'm afraid" "Yeah, the Moment had a few teething problems, they shouldn't have outsourced to India, the software's all in house and near perfect, now's the time to get one..." "Lee's a great bloke and should have held out, it's all on the way up" "It wasn't B&O fault the Spotify thing, Deezer now you're guaranteed with that, it'll be around forever" ... Is this honest optimism or just guff that B&O HQ are feeding their poor dealers then projected on to customers in loose sales talk. I'm having trouble matching the optimism and promises with the repeated tales of B&O failing to deliver software on products in recent years, failing to fix software problems, promising streaming solutions but then being unable to continue with Spotify, ongoing Moment DLNA woes, unsolvable connectivity issues on Beoplay...

It seems to be the first stage of grief — DENIAL
Wait until the second stage kicks in

Perhaps B&O will start offering some amazing deals when the third stage kicks in!
Obviously I'm in a pretty negative mindset at present, but you'll be pleased to know I'm at the 'acceptance' stage now...
I suppose even if a dealer is so quiet he wants to throw a Moment through his plate glass window, he'll always say to a customer he's mad busy. It gives the illusion that you're buying from a brand on the up, and a store doing amazingly well. It gives a potential purchaser a feeling of security.
"We've sold bugger all, and we're so far into our overdraft we've given up. I mean, we might not be here after Christmas.." wouldn't make you part with your money in a hurry, would it.
I would honestly rather be a naked bee-keeper than a B&O Dealer at present.

Things are now starting to fall into place. Perhaps the reason the software development teams have been so silent of late is because they've just given up and are busy testing that BeoPlay speaker infused beer!

Dealers have told me the same thing for every single TV going back to the BV7. Every single release.
They told me that about the BeoSound 1, when I enquired, too. They say "we only have the demo unit as we can't get enough of them, they are flying out the door". When you ask if they'll sell the demo unit, they have no hesitation.
The irony is, I've been in to my local dealer about six times since Christmas and I've never (!) seen a single other customer in there. Who are all these people walking in to the store causing such a demand?

I recently had a similar experience. I called my dealer and asked if they had any on-hand inventory of the BeoSound 1 or BeoSound 2 just because I wanted to treat myself to some instant gratification. They said, "Sure! Come on over!" I drove two hours the next day to visit my dealer. Once I got there, they realized that they were mistaken and had absolutely no inventory. They would not sell me the floor model of the BeoSound 2 but were happy to sell me the floor model of the BeoSound 1.
Kumbaya my lord, kumbaya...
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
I'm afraid I'm in the "don't trust a word the bloke says" camp when buying anything and always pre-arm myself with pointy questions having thoroughly researched my subject before heading out on a potential buying spree. They may not put me off buying what I want but they certainly can change where I buy it from!
Ban boring signatures!

All dealers, if I am not mistaken, are now linked to a central used B&O website, giving the impression that traded-in or demonstration models may be local to you.
Some years ago I encountered the same technique with car dealers. I spotted a model at a local dealers and rang with an enquiry. After an hour or so my call had not been returned so I just went in. It turned out that the car was actually 200 miles away.
There is actually so little on the B&O used site that it perhaps proves the dearth of second life modern speakers and TVs.

Duels:Well all I can say about my local dealer is that he is great. He was happy to discuss the merits an of an original avant vs avant NG with a friend of mine last year in a pretty straight forward way. But if a punter walked in off the street and said "have you had any software problems or is anything not selling?" Well, what on earth would you expect him to say? He's a salesman trying to sell stuff.
Puncher:As I said, start with the premise that salesmen lie! Ban boring signatures!
