Dear
I have received a BEOGRAM 6500 turntable as a gift from my neighbour who did not use in several years.Cosmetically is in mint condition but the problem is that the tonearm does not move. The table is rotating and the light comes on , even the tonearm lowers but goes up after three seconds but it does not move at all.It is not rigid and you can move it just with slight pressure. All the transport screws are loosened.I have tried it with a record as well and no change.Have also lifted the cover of the table and the connection line for the tonearm is there and rotates when you move the tonearm. Is there any chance something just got loose or it is in need of repair?Thank you very much for all your help.

Please describe the failure better, with a record on the platter, does the arm move to the record and set down, does the platter turn ???
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Thank you for your question ; with the record on the platter the arm does not move - the platter starts to turn, the arm does not move but sits down for a couple of seconds and then everything stops.
http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/26414.aspx most likely, or perhaps just a bad servo belt.
If the cord has snapped off, there's no hope of getting it properly back in place without the service manual. The fix itself (as described in the thread above) isn't too complicated.

Check the belt at the servo motor in the rear left corner of the Beogram.
