Hello everyone (and sorry in advance for any strange english grammar and syntax),

i've just bought an out-of-service beogram 1000, out-of-service because of the usual bearings problem. But i have got a problem : to access the top bearing, one has to remove the round metal piece (called the "governor" i think) at the top of the rotor shade. My version is the one without a screw, so i knock it out with gentle hit on the shade (before doing this, i carefully measure the place of this pulley). But here is my problem, while doing the rotor also moved on the shade... So if anyone, with a rotor apart , can tell me the exact measures (of the distance on the picture below), i'll be eternally grateful ^^.

Hi again,

I finally manage to put  everything back (approximatively) in order. But I still have a problem : the TT only makes 32 turn per minute. Could it still be a lubrification problem  (like the bearing not enough cleaned) ? a misadjust rotor ? The belt seems a  little bit loosy too ?Any insights ?

Align the rotor with small strips of acetate, there are holes in the motor housing where you can get in with the strips, Same distance all around, and use Liquid Bearings to lubricate. My belt is also on the loose side (BG 1202). I dont know if the drive for the 1000 is the same as for the 1200, but take a look here And get the manual onsite, it has something about the rumble

hi and thanks for the answer!

My problem changed a bit (but it will be all for testing tonight, quite late here in France) : i suspect the pulley to be the cause of  the problem, (i guess i didn't put it back exactly on the right spot on the shade) because if i try to put washers between the metal plate_ where there's the bottom bearing_ and the motor housing the speed go up to 35 turn per minute (against 32 if i put the washers in their normal places between the screw and the plate ^^). So what's changing here is the height of the pulley/governor; Am I right ? I'll try tomorrow to put more washers to see if the platter speeds up ^^!

Fantastic work on your TT, congrats!

If the drive system is the same as 1200, moving the Idler wheel, the wheel with the rubber edge, up and down will change the speed, is there a speed adjustment on the unit??, I had a BG 1000 but that is 40 years ago, so I forgot some details,

Just checked the user manual, the small knob in the middle of the speed selector is for the speed fine adjustment, clock wise less speed and CCW more speed, inside the deck there must be a coarse adjustment for the idler wheel highs adjustment.

Found something interesting here

Get a silver or gold membership and download the manuals its worth it

WONDEFUL you're a god, this little black knob was indeed the problem (the plastic of the knob though, is completely going into small pieces and don't really fit the shade, it turns a bit  free) but hell yeah this little beauty works just fine now!

Thanks a lot !!

I will try if I can walk on waterBig Smile, now keep it alive, clean and lubricated, and get a nice Beomaster to drive it, and dont be a stranger here on the forum, and we love pics, specially of these wonderful vintage pieces.

Eheh about the pics, i'll post some tomorrow i think (after a little bit of wax on the plinth) ;/ . It's currently plugged on an old philips 22 ah 590 (my only amp with din entry) , i'm still wondering if I buy the beomaster 1000 that was coming with this beauty : 70 euros ? Is it a good price ? there's the original speakers too for 60 euros (this TT was sold out of sevice for 10 euros ^^). And a last question : do you know a good din to rca adapter ? (i don't want to change it on the TT, i want to keep it genuine)

Here is somewhat, but search in your area for 5 pin DIN female to RCA, or make one yourself, dont forget the ground wire.

If you are in Europe I think 130 EU for a working BM 1000 with speakers  is a little steep, try haggle down the price, for speakers I would go for Bvox 1600 or 2600,  The 1600 is a 2 way speaker and not as mentioned in the products section 3 way, some 2600 are 3 way.

Try searching in DK for your units, or ask Dillen or Leslie, they have a lot and sometimes for  very good prices, and you know what you get.
