Latest Version of the X App for iOS Keeps Crashing - MUSIC / RADIO button press

iPhone 8 Plus, B&O App Ver. 1.1.7

Each time I press the Music or Radio button on the bottom of the App window, the App crashes. It plays music from the Play Queue fine (which incidentally is missing the "BACK" arrow on top of the screen now).

The fact that the App crashes on two of the major functional buttons makes it virtually unusable because now, a users don't have access to either their library / DLNA / Radio stations.

Is there any way for B&O to roll back and release the previous version? iTunes 12 doesn't have an Apps section any longer, so the only "store" is the iOS store, which doesn't seem to have that capability.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I have the same problem. It keeps crashing and the app is unusable!

i have fed back to B&O via multiple channels but no response.

sigh...

Users shouldn't have to roll the dice each time B&O pushes out on update. This is truly user hostile behavior, however unintentional - B&O please TEST your application functionality more thoroughly!!!!

If you want to keep people buying B&O, or attract new users, your software can't be amateur hour.

I've figured out a way to revert to an older version of the App, but that requires that you've saved older versions of the B&O App somewhere on your computers (I'm using a Mac, so this may be slightly different on Windows).

Note: Since B&O unilaterally removed BeoMusic upon release of the B&O App well before it was mature, I took it upon myself to begin to save each version of B&O Apps upon updates to my local HDD, that's why I have an older version if you were wondering. Okay, the instructions:

 

  1. First make sure you have an older version of the B&O App stored locally on your computer. I had 1.1.5 which worked fine.
  2. Delete the B&O App from your phone
  3. Connect your phone to your computer
  4. Open iTunes
  5. In the sidebar under "Devices" you should see your phone; drag and drop the older version of the B&O App over the name of your phone as though you were adding it to your phone's library, you should see a blue highlight appear as normal. Once this completes, you should have the older version of the app on your phone.

 

I've shut off auto update apps on my iPhone to prevent B&O from sabotaging my Essence's usability. 

Unfortunately, I can't post the older versions of the B&O apps I've saved because they were purchased using my AppleID, so they won't work without authentication on your devices.

I couldn't agree more. B&O's weakest area now is with its software development. If they can't get the software right in a timely manner, it's time for new talent.

it´s now like the discontinued supported beolink app - it´s crashing! - come on b&o!

I have exactly the same issue since the app was updated yesterday!

 

So frustrating... onto my second moment in a few months and this one isn't working properly either!!!!!

 

I'm really regretting having bought  the moment and using the APP!

Maybe not for this thread but what problem do you have with the Moment?

Issues with the Moment include constantly cutting in and out, stopping (even though my WIFI was installed by a Bang and Olufsen recommended specialist at great cost and can be picked up several houses away!).. 

Every few days I have to reset the tablet and or sound heart.

I also have incorrect artwork for a number of albums.. as well as album artwork changing from one day to the next!

Its infuriating!

I'm having the same problem with my Beosound Core - the App keeps crashing or the Core becomes inreachable despite it being reachable for a few hours 2 days ago. Every since i got it, it's like a temperamental teenager that decides to not cooperate whenever it feels like it or just goes missing for days. I have sent videos to my dealer and am now thinking of returning the Core but it doesnt seem like the Moment isnt free of its problems either. I now have to decide if i'm going to go down the non-B&O route with regards to an audio system.

Not "completely" unusable/useless...

The two buttons are clearly not working, but...

Instead of clicking on one of these button, click on your Beosound's name at the bottom of the screen. You'll then enter its player screen (the screen where you can play / pause / set volume / etc.)

On the right, there are three horizontal dots.

Clicking on these dots, you can select TuneIn, Deezer, etc.

Apparently, everything is working but access to your NAS. You can change the track or the station with the < > keys.

It's not perfect but a workaround while waiting for the next release of the app.

I am part of the BETA-Tester program (via Testflight). 

The app was stable and worked relatively well except that the app occasionally heated up my iphone. I assume this has something to do with the NAS. 

Now B&O released 1.1.7 and the app is useless. I don't know what else B&O has "fixed", but if they go back to 1.1.6, the users should be happy (more or less).

Maybe someone at B&O hit the wrong button and so a BETA version has landed in the Appstore, because on Testflight the version to test is also 1.1.7 and it would be to be expected that a older version will be activated than the newest testrelease.

User-friendliness has greatly increased (1.1.6) but is still a long way from being very good or better: what we should expect from B&O.

app now working.....latest update seems to have fixed crashes...!

at least was resolved quickly....

Glad that yours is working, Sandyb! For mine is still not. This entire matter makes me think seriously about investing further in the Beosound Core and any other B&O product. This company has had way too many chances with me over the past couple of years.

I’m a TestFlight beta tester, and B&O have just released version 1.2.0.9590.

The music and radio tabs are working again.

I’m glad they sorted it out quickly, but it should never had happened in the first place.

Could you please briefly explain to me how you succeeded in getting the music and radio tabs to function properly again? Mine are still crashing.

Hi Guys

Sorry about this. Seems our latest version had a serious crash bug on iOS 11. We have a fix in the pipeline and will ask Apple for a fast review to get it out quickly.

1.2.0, released earlier today brings back usability, and brings a big new feature : iPad support!

for Mr Andersen : there is no way to go back from the playlist view on iPad (not tested on iPhone but could be the same).

The icon is not shown but you can still exit from the playlist screen by tapping on the upper left angle of the screen. Bug isn’t on both iPad and iPhone.

Mine isn't working... i can't find any new version to update too... perhaps some of you are using beta versions? The last release i have available is 1.1.7.9.5.2.7. There is nothing newer i can find in the APP Store.? So I'm perplexed how some of you have installed new versions?

I don't see an update either. Perhaps it is being rolled out region by region. US doesn't have the update yet as of this posting.

The latest beta 1.2 version is still crashing on iPad running IOS9..

I have reported it through the app also.

As of this posting, just downloaded 1.1.8 from the App Store (US). And everything seems to be working as it should.
