hi,
Can anyone help me here, i have a mint beolink 7000 remote , its the last type i think with clock and C.D.V. on the extra functons, it works perfect in every way, but i'm using it with a beosystem 4500 linked to a AV9000 television in a full 4 speaker AV set up, as the analoge signal is long gone, the only way i can watch the television is though another companies set top box, i use a humax box.
Manged to find and install a new old stock set top box controller kit for the AV9000 television, so now a B&O remote can work the set top box, however to to this you need the V.AUX command on the remote, it also tells you this on the set up instructions for the AV9000 set top box controller module, which is a circuit board and IR sensor you have in install in the back of the AV9000.
It says in the instructions to use the V.AUX command to turn on and off the set top box using the beo4 remote of other B&O remotes so long as it has V.AUX on it.
Well my later beolink 7000 has not got V.AUX on it, just C.D.V. and V.TAPE 2 as extra functions so i cannot turn on the AV9000 and use with this remote sadly.
I have found out that the first generation beolink 7000 remotes had V.AUX on the extra functions, and SAT for satalite TV.
Just seen a very good example for sale, but before i go ahead and waste hard earned cash on yet another remote i dont reall need, is there any way i can get the later Beolink7000 i allready have to turn on the Set top box?
Ive tried every combo i can think of and only pressing V.AUX on a beo4 or beolink 5000 will turn on the set top box.
can anyone enlighten me here if ican use my own beolink7000 or have i got to take the plunge and buy the old version with V.AUX on it to work the set top box?
regards,
LAMPY, (Phil)
On a BL1000, V.AUX can be obtained using SHIFT TV. Have you tried that, or doesn't BL7000 have the SHIFT function?
lampy: It says in the instructions to use the V.AUX command to turn on and off the set top box using the beo4 remote of other B&O remotes so long as it has V.AUX on it.
Alternatively, have you tried renaming the AV9000s input SCART socket that the Humax is connected to? Maybe go into the VIDEO sources menu and change AV2 (if that's what it is) to CDV. Then see if you can select and control using CDV on the BL7000. Alternatively, try V.TAPE2.
If may be that the instructions tell you to use V.AUX as the Set Top Box input to avoid the case where people already use CDV or SAT for other things, and V.TAPE is already sued for the internal VCR. Just a thought!
thanks for your reply, but allready tried renaming the scart socket to say CDV and pressing that on the beolink 7000, nothing happens, it only seems to work when pressing V.AUX.
Theres also no shift function on a beolink 7000, only on beolink 1000 and 5000 remotes.
