2 Weeks with beovision eclipse 55.

g

Great picture . (well its the LG C7 panel) Great sound. Nice motorised stand. Prefer looks to Avant 55.

No curtains on putting TV into standby.

Dolby vision not possible on Apple TV when connected to Eclipse through soundcentre. It will play HDR 60Hz and this requires Belkin ultrafast cdmi cable.

No control of network link products with BeoRemote one !!!

Deezer intermittent.

Occasional audio dropping from Sky , Netflix and Amazon. Pulling plug out of socket restores it.

Netflix stream rate is intermittent ,pictures vary from 480p to 2160p (TV is hard wired to router 74Mps)

My button on remote does not function - yet.

Tv always defaults to HDMi A on start up regardless of what is selected

Very Rocky start to LG and B&O marriage

Should've gone to supersavers and then would have got the right purchase: LG0LED55C7BOZ £1900 Curry's

Once updates are produced and subsequently installed I an sure the finished product will be good.

Congratulations on your new purchase. Will look forward to any new experiences you report. You may interested to know there is already a live Eclipse thread in the general forum. Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Well done you, a very restrained post listing unfinished issues on an 11K supposed premium TV!

Apple accepts issues with apple 4k tv and dolby vision and its limitations with this particular C7 panel. Perhaps its my particular Eclipse seeing as yours works fine. Perhaps u could let me know what setting u have on audio and video in Apple 4k tv is it 50 or 60Hz and what type of HDR.

Could you also tell me how u managed to get

Sorry typo!!!

How did you get CD/Radio to appear on the beoremote one to control network link products as service technicians are unable to do so. They cannot even get the NL to appear on the set up app on my network.

As for My button, apparently there"s no software release yet. Or so I have been told.

I'm glad it works well for you.

Sorry for my last response, i read over it quickly as i was busy with something else. So i'll ellaborate a bit more.

I don't have an apple tv, but i do have an intel nuc hooked up to hdmi a. How ever when i switch the tv on it always defaults to the tv, never to the nuc.

I've never had the problem of the tv signal needing to be disconnected. I do have a faulty coaxial cable wich causes some of the signal issues i have. The reason i know is that i yanked on it too hard whilst removing it from my last setup. It is fine when i hold it in certain positions and all the issues go away, i just haven't had the time yet to buy another cable.

The issues with the apple tv are mostly to blame on the apple tv, it's not a finnished product yet, where have we heard that before?! Stick out tongue

Unfortunately i don't think anybody will get the curtains, and if we do, it won't be anytime soon.

My eclipse is connected to my 5g home network, 180/30Mbps and hasn't had any drop outs or loss in noticable quality for netflix etc. Granted i have mostly used the app on the tv, so i'll run some tests later with my nuc. It is aboslutely cluttered with signals where i live(18 different networks visible last time i counted) which is weird because i only have 8 neighbours with in a 100 feet.

At the moment i don't have any nl/ml products, so that i don't know. If i remember right, i think i read somewhere that i may not be fully supported yet but is comming in an update soonish. Iam hoping to get a bs9000 once this is fully functional.

The only quirck i found so far is that when i watch tv late at night i sometimes switch to just the speakers on the tv to not wake the missus. However if and when i press guide to see what else is on, all the speakers come on again like they would when turning on the tv. The same happens if i go to a channel that has no signal and stay on it for to long(with the p+/p- buttons). My only work around so far is to channel flip quickerHuh?

That's about all for now, i check back in later.

Regarding the issue with the Apple 4K TV and DolbyVision - have Apple mentioned if this will be fixed via a Software Update or is this issue likely to be permanent?

They said they're working on it, but i don't know how solid it is or how long it'll take. Apple has their own thoughts about things and want 60hz/60fps first, and sort of will see if they can have the best of both worlds. Apple is just being apple again with being quircky

Actually the reason they prefer 60hz is that the interface looks best like that. It’s true too. But video should play back at its optimal speed. And if Tv has interpolation for smoother playback that should be a feature you can enable easily.

Most TVs show you annoying data and takes time to switch between resolutions. That’s why they don’t prefer that solution even though it is optimal. I think we will see improvement here in the future now when people care more about technology and how it works than before.

Apple uses refresh rate adjustments heavily in the new iPad pros and I hope this will come to TVs as well. Adaptive refresh rate. And I do hope Apple will make a tv too :).

Just gotten my Eclipse this weekend. And one thing that was odd, was that the "MyButtons" doesn't work.
They have the button on the new Netflix remote and you can read about how to use it in the instructions, yet I can't use it.

Anyone?

Make sure the power switch to the TV is easily accessible. I’ve had my eclipse 2 weeks after launch and have had to re boot it several times. Developing a nice 6 pack.

otherwise when the TV works it’s not bad for the bargain price of £8850.

Software updates will arrive ...soon! I think?

I also experience major drop outs when I connect the Apple TV 4K to HDMI A. My dealer said I should connect to HDMI 1 but then I get the audio drop outs which Apple are working on. Any solutions?

With the drop-outs on HDMI A on the SoundCentre - Could this possibly be a software bug for B&O to fix on the SoundCentre itself?

Does as anyone know if any of this feedback has been sent back to B&O?

As for HDMI 1 on the panel itself, I could see how that would be an issue for Apple to resolve.

Anyone else experience issues with other devices connected through the SoundCentre?

First of all make sure you use the Belkin ultra fast HDMI cable (Apple TV 4k recommends this)

U should find stability on 4K 6O HZ HDR in audio and video settings in Apple TV Chroma is 4:2:0

I believe Dolby vision is not possible at this time

Using HDMI 1 means no control of Apple TV Using the Beoremote One.

Also enable hdmi ultra HD Deep colour on LGC7 oops B&O tv!

Reported to Apple and B&O a couple of days after Apple 4k tv release. Apple still investigating and B&O probably still busy bonding their Soundbars to the LGC7 panels using Gorilla glue as there has been no response from them.

B&O are aware of the problem:

Work-around:

Performance issue on HDMI with UDH signals above 30 Hz (FPS) or FHD 4:4:4 colour sub sampling.

Unfortunately, we have recognized performance issues with high-speed HDMI UHD signals.
We have seen set-top boxes where the signal is interrupted or you get noise on the screen when the signal frame rate is above 30Hz on UHD.
Playback of UHD HDR Blu-ray will not be affected by this because they are 24 Hz.
If you use the HDMI socket on the back of the BeoVision Eclipse (directly in the screen), there are no problems. The disadvantage here is that there is no PUC control, and the HDMI inputs can't be selected via the BeoRemote - you have to use the Bang & Olufsen app or rely on the source being selected automatically.

We recommend not to enable the HDMI Ultra HD Deep Colour. We are working on a solution and we will keep you updated.

Anyone heard anymore on this? I got my Eclipse on the weekend - loving it so far (although REALLY want them to add more B&O to the interface). Annoying Dolby Vision doesn't work through HDMI A/B/C/D - it better do with an update!

Current annoying things:

- Can't link to remote sources (so can't set speaker options for when I join my BeoSound Essence for example, but I can probably get round this using the BLGW). JOIN does work well however - seems quick. Love that it has Airplay built-in as well so really easy to get friends to play their music through my speaker setup.

- Haven't tested the BLGW with it yet but from playing in-store it appears to accept commands from the BLGW. However it doesn't yet pass through LIGHT and CONTROL commands to BLGW - not really acceptable so hopefully this is added soon!

- NO CURTAINS! Too much LG.

- Not able to remove sources I don't want (such as all the LG apps) so there's loads on the remote screen I don't want there. Would also like to be able to edit LIST contents for each source.

I have to say thought - the sound from the TV itself is AMAZING! I'm sure it's not the case but the sound being sent through my 4 BL18s seems to be better as well!

Same here ... having several problems with HDMI ports on SoundCentre. All info sent to B&O.
Complete silence from B&O on this matter... kind of worrying...

actually you can..

on BR1 - List - Speaker - your defined Speaker settings

Partly can be done

BR1 - Home button - select the to be deleted app - up button - confirm with OK (edit: but not the LG apps)

The LIST command are source dependent, but I didn't find a way to remove or move them

I mean when you swap to a source automatically - you used to be able to predefine options for linked sources on previous BO TVs. Again, I could do this with the BLGW but it's a feature that's been removed from what previous models did.

you mean to predefine Speaker groups and Sound mode for sources of the BV Eclipse? This can be set in a simular way as on a BV11.

Actually until now I only found one major difference with the BV11 - some functionallities of Homemedia: 1. I can't play FLAC files from the network. 2. Multichannel music files are not supported.

Still no response for Apple TV 4K. Told to be patient.

Unfortunately no future support for NL/ML converter. Hard wire older products to Eclipse for some functionality i.e lets the system play thru speakers but no control of CD or Radio using BeoRemote one.

Possibly the beginning of the death knell for Classic B&O.

Putting aside so-called negativity on this board, when actual Eclipse owners make comments like this, times are seriously worrying. These are owners, using the TV, stating they are disappointed with the product and brand direction.

I would recommend not to go that way. Not just because of integration issues but if anything happens to BS9000, there are many parts that are not available. I was also looking at a unit some time back and that is what I got from the local B&O service center in Boston (Independent shop).

Which is really sad for such an iconic piece, isn't it? I have a Mk I, bought it when it first came out. Glass fell off and while it was in the shop the tech recommended replacing the laser as the early ones were failure prone. So far it still works and that was long ago, even though most of what I use it for is just to connect my Playmaker to the BL9s while providing tone controls and such, it's almost as much a work of art as a stereo component now.

When it and the BL8000 setup came out, they were the first pieces of audio gear I bought solely on pure lust. Everything before was a rational decision, I either wanted to try a technology (aka tubes) or the specs or functionality was driving it, but the BS9000, followed shortly by my decision to buy the BL8000s, was as much or more emotional as rational, although the 8000s sounded outstanding in the weird acoustics of my living room back then. Better than anything else I'd tried. The 8000s were tried before I bought them, so I knew they solved some problems in my home and sounded great there, but the 9000 was a "I have to have that art" as much as a stereo component.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

That is what the store confirmed. It may be a momentary software issue - that would be my hope - not some hope that the store had volunteered.

They proved it by going to a demo play list on their in store twonky and only 3 files (all mp3s) showed up on the Eclipse.

One was the famous blue rain coat’s recording of “bird on a wire”. Which was weird on the 3way Eclipse speaker as it seem to change the sound stage I know so well.

On the plus side the Eclipse does stream Deezer’s HiFi FLAC (I was told but did not see/hear)

At the moment the only way to play your Lossless music collection on a NAS is via the Bang&Olufsen app.
This is because the LG screen doesn't support Flac but the Sound Centre does. This will be fixed soon from what I have heard.

Thanks for the info. At least it can be done. It’s not a huge deal to me since I mostly stream now, but I’m just considering worst case scenarios where streaming services are dropped (like the bs5), and maintaining some level of backward compatibility (my NAS is a BM5).

Anyone knows how to get to the service menu for the puc setup? Also is it possible to change to a location where it is not there in the list?
