Dear all,
sorry if if this is a very naive question. I was wondering what the function of the M2 processor on a beovision is? I checked the error log on my Bv7-32 mk3 last night and saw 4 errors (22-2D) on the same day against the M2 processor. Strangely everything seems to be working okay but I'm wondering if I should be worried!
Many thanks
Luke
My BeoVision (6-26) often shows errors but works perfectly! You can clear them with the GO button!
The M2 processor provides the Teletext graphics, so if you don't use it you are not likely to see an issue. The Error codes are the micro processor bus error codes and the error code defines which bus device it was addressing when it detected an error. The Error code is in the form XX-YZ where XX is the bus device it was addressing at the time of the error. Y is which of the two(2) buses it was addressing and Z is one of four (4) segments of that bus it was using. In your case you had Error Code 22 which means it was addressing the OSD (On Screen Display) graphics for the Teletext. So, it was addressing the M2 Processor (IC800 an SDA6000 chip)Assuming you never use the Teletext, then these errors may have been created at Startup/Boot time when the micro processor goes around and does basic tests. If you have ever seen your TV display a coloured screen typically blue at startup, then that normally means a test has failed.
