New gear pulley for the Beogram CDX, CDX2 and CD3300 is now in the webshop.

To me it came in perfect timing, because I have a CDX on the bench where the owner had fitted a 3D-printed gear bought off Ebay.
Not only had a tooth broken off already, its rough and coarse surfaces managed to eat a new belt in just a little over two months, leaving nothing but rubber dust everywhere.
Beoparts-shop has the real thing.

I ended up designing my own gear for the CD X, CD X2 and CD3300 CD players, as the drawings on thingiverse did not fit at all. This replacement gear fits very well, as long as it is printed with high enough accuracy.

While I agree with Martin that a poorly printed gear will not work well, I think a gear printed in a strong material such as nylon will be a pretty decent replacement, assuming that the tolerances are good enough and if it is printed with a small enough nozzle.

Currently, there are a few gears available on Ebay, including my own version. I can only speak for myself wrt. quality of a 3D printed replacement, as I have not purchased any of the ones listed on Ebay and only tested my own version. But so far I have only had positive feedback and I did not have any issues with snapped teeth or worn belts. I can't break my 3D printed gear with a set of pliers ;) I guess it depends on which seller you get the gear from and the material used to print the gears.

I am not sure who sold the gear in question, and I haven't tested all of them, but as far as I can tell, the
ones currently on Ebay are all 3D-printjobs, and I can't see one that's smooth where the belt runs.

The Beoparts-shop gear was injection molded (heated) in POM (link to WIKI), exactly like the original part (apart from the bad formula used for the original material, of course).

Hi Martin,

That is great, I glued together a Frakenstein gear a couple of years ago and have been waiting for a nice replacement. I just made the order!

Hi there.

Are you still able to supply these parts? I am in South Africa, I am looking for the 2 yellow gears and the White one.
