Hi there,
I’m about to buy a BM 7000 with software version 1.1.
And I right in thinking the following: -
1. software updates after 1.1 mainly fixed issues regarding multiroom setups?
2. the most up-to-date software for the BM7000 is 1.3?
3. if it is a simple one room setup with just one audio master, it should be set to option 1?
The only reason for replacing my BM6500 with the BM 7000 is the RDS tuner which I hope will send data to the Beolink 7000. Is the 1.1 software a limiting factor in wanting to do this (it would not seem so).
Many thanks in advance.

Beomaster 7000 sw 1.0 and up will send RDS data to BL7000, just make sure that the beomaster you are buying has the RDS module.
They all had from the factory, but I have seen units where the module is removed and used in beocenter 2300 and Ouverture.
The module is the same, and very few BM7000’s actually use the module since the rare Beolink 7000 with RDS is needed to take advantage of RDS. So the module has been removed and sold.
To check if it is there, just remove the top cover, and the module is at the front and to the right. 7x7 cm or so, just next to the big processor module.

My BM7000 has version 1.0 (according to the sticker on the chip) and the RDS channel names do show up on my BL7000. And yes, on a one room setup I am using it on option 1.
Are there any details what the later versions fixed over the 1.0?
Thanks for the swift response – very helpful!
Not sure what 1.1 fixed from 1.0. However 1.2 and 1.3 from what I have read, seem to address very specific issues concerning Beolink/ Multi room setups and the data sent to/from the audio and video master. Sorry for the lack of detail but I’m on an iPhone and found the information originally when I was at my PC.
Sage advice Jacob - I will check - thank you.
I have a Beolink 7000 Type 1631 on its way. Am I correct in thinking that model should be OK to receive RDS data?

I have a 1631 myself, unfortunately sold the 1540 with 2.1 as that is better for the Beosystem 7000. But 1631 works with RDS and BM7000 yes.
Here's a pic - can you see the RDS module?
Here's a pic - is this RDS module?

Yes..
Thanks Jacob - am very pleased with the 7000 so far - very clean and clearly well maintained.
.....oh and it doesn't sound too bad either!

Yes, it is quite good :) Still have my complete 7000 system in the office, with a set of Penta 2's connected. Beolink 7000 with RDS and the Beogram with MMC2 pickup.
The BM7000 is quote long lasting, but if you at some point get problems with sound in the left or right passive speaker, or scratching that goes away when you turn up the volume, it is "just" the mute relay that needs to be changed.
