Good afternoon to all,

I may collect a beovision 3 for free soon. It has the optional AC3 module.

I think i will end scrapping the whole TV set but before I would like to ask you something:

Do you think there's a way to take out the dolby board and make it work as standalone?
I mean, there's the Spdif inputs and PL outs so maybe it's just about bringing power to it ?

Thinking it twice, i do understand there's no economic or convenience reasons to do that but just about curiosity i would now what you think!

Thank you.

I'd say probably not as there are all those speaker mode selections etc that cannot be accessed without the TV (there is no output on the PL outs until you have enabled the module thrue the on-screen menus) but I'd love to be proven wrong!

(If you end up scrapping the set, please do remove the add-on modules, surely somebody will be interested in buying those. At least I was when I just bought my AC3 module just a couple of months ago :)

When I scrapped my BV3 I removed the AC3 module.  I was intending to fit it into my BV6-26 because the one for that has the same part number, but haven't got around to it yet and wasn't sure whether the BV6-26 would then need a SW update.

Good Afternoon Beowulf.

I now have the BV 3-32 and it seems to work fully well.

It's actually to give away for any member of the forum who want to collect it.

I'm sorry but i dont feel like and have no time to try to extract the Dolby board for now as i'm preparing to move out.

If you know anyone around here (Paris) who can collect the TV, i'll be happy to not scrap it.

Hope you understand.

Regards.
