Hi
Connecting a Beogram to a Beosound 3000 is usually done using the AUX input but I have a bluetooth connector using that input....so what are my solutions then as the Beosound 3000 has no other inputs! Probably a basic question for some but I haven't a clue. I did do research but haven't come up with anything. Someone suggested a switch that I would have to move between the Beogram and the Bluetooth receiver?
Thanks
Ben
Sorry if this is already obvious to you, but FYI you can get that switch automated, not a manual hand-operated switch. I don't know of any really high-quality ones, and all will have some kind of switching delay, but the needle drop of the turntable might be just enough to trigger, so put it as the "Input #2" where Input #1 is the default, because the Bluetooth receiver won't make any preliminary noises before playing. Alas, the BeoGram 7000 (for example) intentionally *mutes* the needle-drop before cutting in the sound! (Cool, right? But not when you want it...) Still there may be enough "swish" from the lead-in groove to make these gadgets trigger. One inexpensive solution on amazon is the "MCM Custom Audio Automatic Two-Way Source Selector - Sound Activated", but read the reviews and you'll see what you're up against with regard to source selection. Anybody else suggest some really good device instead? (A manual switch might be OK too -- after all, you have to walk over to the turntable to put on the record anyway, so what's the big deal about pushing the switch button at the same time. It's just not hidden and BeoCool automatic...)
Are you using the ML connection for a link system? Is there a B&O TV in the same room?
If the answer to both the above is no, how about getting hold of a BeoLink converter 1611 as an 'extra' aux input onto the ML system - pressing TV, SAT or V.TAPE will select the aux as long as the BS is in Audio Option 2.
EDIT (Twice!): To explain, you'd have the BeoGram connected to the BS3000 AUX socket, and connect the 1611 to the BS3000's ML socket. Your BT receiver should then be connected to the AUX socket on the 1611.
Thanks for the replies. I actually have a Beolink 1611 lying in a drawer, I'll give that a try.
Totally forgot about that option.
Thanks again
I hope that it works - there's some more info here, particularly page 2: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/5354.aspx?PageIndex=1
I'm wondering if it would be possible to add another Aux input from the master link connection directly ?
Something like the iPod to master link cable for the beolab 2000.
matador43: Something like the iPod to master link cable for the beolab 2000.
Steve will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that relies upon the use of TEST MODE to open up the BeoLab's Aux input. Not sure if this is possible on the BeoSound.
Good afternoon Guy,
Make sense as it's the "user guide" for the cable on Steve's website.I read the words but couldn't get any sense of them. Now I understand.
Tant pis !
Hi,
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, the Beolab 2000 iPod cable relies on activating a test mode on the speaker, so this cable won't work directly with the Beosound. However, the suggestion made previously to use the Beolink Converter should work, as long as there isn't a B&O TV in the room (or on the same ML network). Any video source (e.g. TV, DVD, etc) can then be selected to activate the converter as an extra 'Aux' input.
Please let me know if you need any help with cables to get everything working!
King regards, Steve.
Steve.

So I connected the Beolab 3500 to the Beosound using a ML cable directly not going through the 1611. I managed to get the beolab and beosound to come on together and play. The Beolab has no bass at all, I turned up the bass on the beola but still no bass, so I changed the beolab with another one and same issue. Also one Beolab doesn't seem to remember any of the settings for bass etc.......everything goes back to 0. Also I get no difference with loudness and on or off. I am super confused. Beosound is connected to Beolab 6000 through powerlink and the beolab through ML. What option is each one supposed to be on? I have tried almost every combination under the sun and why does it sound so bad?
Thanks for the help!!
Hi - a different solution might be to try the oneremote aux expander http://shop.oneremote.dk/en/product/oneremote-audio-input-expander-for-bo-systems/
With this you connect it to the AUX input on the BS, connect your speakers to the BS and then program the aux expanders with a Beo4 - it will give you an additional 3 inputs which you select with a Beo4 -
Thanks for that link Andrew....didn't know that product existed...will check it out!
Yes, it's a pretty versatile product - you can program it so that say you have one Beousound input you can press A.Mem 1, 2 or 3 to select the different inputs.
I dug mine out and am using it again!
