Hi

I have bought a pair of beolab 8000 and according to the serial (1599..) it is from march 2002.

There is push written on the part which hide the connection and there is absolutely no foam behind the electronic module. I have a more recent pair of mk2 (2005) and this is the same thing except the way the module is fixed on the speaker.

It seems that the information from beocentral that says a mk2 is beginning from 1699... is not so sure.

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

Serial Number 16992475 onwards is Mk2. Any serial number before that is Mk1.

What were the Mk 1/2 differences? I find the articles unclear on that, what year did they change from the passive xover on one woofer to both connected together?

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

I'm being proposed a set of BL8000s, with serials 17385766 and 1680100, which doesn't make much sense, according to the info above... that somehow means one MKI, and one MKII speaker ???
