I just got my E8 fron the authorized dealer and found that every time I have phone call, I hear both the conversation and also the noise from surrounding. Its like the transparent mode is on during the phone call. Is it normal?
I am experiencing exactly the same thing. This is a truly unfortunate choice. People that I talk to also complain about the excessive ambient noise on the call. This definitely defeats the purpose of using a headset in a noisy environment.
Hi guys,
i have been using the E8 over 2 weeks now, and yes, i have the exact the same problem during call. Spent lot of time googling this issue, seen like there is not many people complain this....
anyway, during this 2 weeks, and over 50 phone calls that i made or answered, there are few times where the volume will suddently come louder, and the person that i talk to, also notcied the differents....
is there anyone also facing the same problem? any chances this can be fix? becuase apart from this, the music and all that are prefect....
Thank you guys..
Yes, not only can I hear the background noise during calls, so can the others on the call. The ideal is to keep the background noise out of the call, not amplify it!
I just updated to the new 5.4.0 firmware. No more blips on the left earpiece! Now music sounds really nice and smooth. I did a comparison to my Westone UM2 which are dual driver monitors (and cost much more), and I’m happy to say the E8 sounds better.
The transparency is also off for calls, so now I think you can talk in a moderately noisy environment.
well done, B&O !!! I’m happy!
Oops, I spoke too soon. The background ambient sounds during calls is still very loud and I can’t do any call except in a quiet environment.
I'm having exactly the same problem and I think it might be bad enough for me to return the E8's.
My gut feeling is that this is a software issue that can be fixed with a firmware update but who knows how long that will take.
