svinaik: crossbytje: In this case, you have to rely on the line in detection of the beolabs to switch on and off, and during 'silent' scenes, this could sometimes lead to unnecessary switching on/off while watching movies, or tv shows with a lot of speech. I have a set of BeoLab 4s connected to my compyter, and sometimes they don't switch on unless I turn the volume up (and down again, because I don't want them to be that loud). Anyway, I suppose the almando box takes care of the trigger signal to the beolabs. But if that is the only extra, it is a very expensive one... Thanks for sharing your points. I must admit that I never explore any others ways of integrating B&O sound with Loewe other than just going the Almando Multi surround way but all I can say is that solution works a like a charm with just 2 Ethernet Cat 7 cables, In any case, since I was saving so much by going the Loewe route versus Eclipse, I had no trouble spending some money on Almando. Almando controls the speaker with in line voltage trigger for BL 50 and BL 50 works just like they worked with my BV9 or any other B&O TV. In future, If I decide to hook up my BL5 also as surround speakers, Almando will take care of that in a heartbeat. So seems like there are many ways to go at different budget points. Let the great thoughts keep flowing as this may help many more people in making a sound decision.

My point was, that the Almando box would do the surround processing - which means decide which channel to send to which speaker.
The Loewe has (as already more users stated) an onboard surround processor and can - of course - use the in-built speaker as a center channel.
The Almando box however, has no access to the tv speaker, I would suppose - and therefore now your setup is a pure stereo/2 channel setup....
....at least untill you decide to use the BL5’s as surround speakers.
Am I right in asuming, that you have no sound from the tv speaker, ‘just’ (if I may say so) from the BL50’s.
If you have - it would be nice to know how one should set up/configure the tv. Also from the point of view of having a right balance between all three channels and perhaps also to bas manage the sound from the relatively weak tv speakers to the BL50’s, when playing from a multichannel source.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
You are correct in that Almando can only send the sound to whatever speakers are connected with it.
In my setup, decision to use 2 or 3 or 5 or “Optimal” speakers is done through the Loewe sound set up and Loewe is distributing the sound either based upon my selection or based upon “TV’s decision “ if optimal is chosen. On the Almando, I have only connected the BL 50. Sound balancing amongst the speakers is done at Loewe level where the surround speaker range ( Hz- Mhz) and the speaker distance etc is setup as part of the initial setup. In that setup, we can also define sound level settings for TV speakers and Surround speakers.
So effectively, I am using the Loewe surround processing and Almando plays a secondary role of managing the incoming sound to the connected speakers. If I used another external speaker as Center Channel, than Almando will balance the sound across connected speakers instead of Loewe.
So we have both options, use Loewe surround or Almando. Hope that explains ,
I have also invited Almando CEO, Juergen to contribute to this discussion thread and if he joins, it will be great for all of us as he is a deep source of knowledge on B&O and Loewe sound management.
hotknife: Hi guys. Just sold my BV10-46 and ordered the Loewe Bild 5.55 OLED with almando-surround box. Front speakers BL9, rear speakers Bl8000 MarkII & BeoSound4. Plus ordered the new Apple TV 4k 64GB. Alle things should arrive next week. Keep you up to date.

Congratulations. You will be super pleased.
Since you ordered BILD 5 , did you get the speaker bar also as i think it is an option on BILD 5?,
Please remember that Almando box comes with one Ethernet cable ( to connect Loewe DAL to Almando) and you will need cables for B&O speakers. Keep us posted,
Svinaik, I order the Bild 5 incl. the 80 watt Loewe-speaker. I did not order the Bild 7 with the retractable 120 watt speaker because the 1k extra charge between Bild 5 and Bild 7 55" OLED was it not worth for me. Plus I did not like the stand of the Bild 7.
Yes, I ordered some powerlink/RJ45 to connect all 4 speakers to the almando box. I was told the BS4 could be connected also via powerlink/powerlink cable to the almando box.
LOEWE bild 5.55 OLED + AppleTV; BS4; BL9; BL8000 MKII all black
And I`d also like to put a non B&O subwoofer to the setting (Velodyne Mico- or MiniVee/ or a B&W PV1).
1, The non B&O subwoorfer does not have any powerlink cable. What kind of adapter cable shall I use?
2, Does a non B&O subwoofer work with the almando-box and Loewe Bild 5?
I do not want to place a BL2/19.
Hi Guys,
I currently have a 3.1 setup with the Loewe acting as the centre and the beloab 18s acting as the front L&R and a Beolab 19 as my subwoofer.
I want to add a set of 17's or 18s to setup so the speakers will connect to my transmitter 1 wirelessly and then be placed in another lounge where we sit and eat to get multi-room.
The idea is that when the TV is on and playing media I will have a 5.1 system ( with rear sound in the second lounge). But when I want multi-room the speakers will play music across both rooms or just the one room.
I was thinking of adding a beosound core to do this - would this work ?
I have another transmitter 1 and Klipch HD transmitter but don't want to separate the speakers. Unless I can somehow connect both transmitters together?

@Mikipedia
Will do on Wednesday. Currently traveling out of country, As for enjoying the Loewe7 , it has surpassed my expectations and grateful that there was something that I could want (after what I considered a disaster by B&O).
Loewe remote is dimensionally very close to B&O remote. I will take a picture side by side. I think it is tasteful (has no Ugly NETFLIX etc.).

I have loaded the picture of Loewe BILD 7 remote right next to B&O remote so that you can see them side by side. Pretty much similar form factor.
I loaded the picture in the Media section. I have not been successful in posting the picture in the "replies"
@svinaik
Thanks! looks nice, but a bit wide. it's been over a year since i held a remote of a bild 7. i'd be more interested if they would use a little bit nicer materials and make it narrower.
one thing i did notice is that it seems like the p+/p- and v+/v- are on the opposite side as compared to the beo remote one. i think, instictively, loewe has got this right, i've had it for a month now and am still messing up between volume and channel all the time when not looking. it's rather irritating, specially when i just want to turn the volume up in sports, but end up switching channels at the wrong moment :p i also like the beo remote one much less than the beo4/5. the beo remote one is much prettier, but it's too lightweight and all of it needs to sit on a flat surface to not wiggle when pressing buttons. the beo 4/5 didn't have these issues.
btw, i looked thrue all your pictures again and next to your bild 7.77 the bl50's look kinda small lol all in all it looks ver good though!
Just a quick notice, will write a detailed feedback soon.
Yesterday the Loewe Bild 5.55 with center speaker and table foot inkl. the almando surround box arrived and my B&O/Loewe dealer installed everything within 40min.
Setup
Loewe Bild 5.55 OLED with center speaker on table foot and black alu assist remote
almando surround box
BeoSound 4 connected via powerlink to almando box
BeoLab 9 connected via powerlink to almando box
BeoLab 8000 connected via powerlink to almando box
If you switch on the BS4 all 4 speakers (BL9 + BL8000) receive the signal (after switching off, the speaker also switch off directly). Runs perfect.
The Loewe has a surround speaker modul like the e.g. BV10 (seat distance for each speaker incl. inbuild center, dB adjustment, sound adjustment). TV is off. If you ture the TV on and you have the dolby digital signal availabe all speaker run very proper.
Yesterday I watched Mission Impossible and was blown away from the OLED display and my speakers. The sound from the speakers was so much better than on the BeoVision 10-46 setup.
What do I miss, holding serval B&O TV`s for more than 15 years? Nothing. (O.k. the housing of the center speaker is not alu/stainless steel like a B&O).
There is no need to worry regarding integration of BeoLab and BeoSound into the Loewe setup with the almando box. Just plug and play.
Do youself a favor and take a closer look to the Loewe Bild OLED TV`s.

Congratulations to you. I am so glad that you also went the same route as I did and feel great.about our decisions
Frankly,. if anyone were to put a little thought in their decisions like you and I have done, there is no match today with Loewe and Almando combination and we can still use what B&O does best, that is active speakers.
We not only ended with a much better TV (Loewe) and TV experience (Loewe OS) but also saved lots of money doing that.
I think many folks will read your and mine examples and will start walking this path except the hard core B&O fan boys who will not see the daylight even when sun is shinning.
Congratulations again and thank you for posting your experience.

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
KMA:Kudos to you who have journeyed outside the "walled garden" of B&O. This is actually refreshing, in many ways. Even if B&O have lost the plot with Beovisions, there's a viable plug&play alternative with Loewe & Almando. If anything, it should give B&O an incentive to re-think their position with TVs, which were once one of their core competences. Currently, with those who know the Loewe/Almando route of sensible pricing and cross-brand integration, B&O loses and Loewe/Almando wins. If I were Loewe, or Almando, I'd follow this thread with great interest – and perhaps see an opportunity they've not fully advertised yet.

Good points, and I have been quite interested in this thread, as it shows that viable options exist for integration with other brands. B&O has always had a reputation of not playing well with others, from their DIN connections to closed architectures, etc. In the past that wasn't too big a deal as a complete B&O system was pretty competent, now it seems to be a mish mash of incompatible systems, even within the brand, and overpriced and underperforming products, while still having some very high performance pieces (Beolabs). I am seriously looking at the Almando stuff for possible future use when I dig into and update my systems, I hadn't dug into what they offer and am impressed with what I see.
Definite Kudos to svinaik for not only daring to go beyond the walled garden but also for giving us all a map of the way!
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Plus we can integrate a Sonus Connect via toslink (plug and play).
I was so close to buy a new B&O TV, but after I was told B&O will not product the converter for masterlink anymore, I was really pissed. Every quarter a new approach. You only pay for bling/bling and a stone heavy TV. Panel from Samsung/LG, android software and no connections to older B&O stuff/other brands.
I am/was a great fan of all B&O products and did not care for the massive overpriced products (I was so often given the finger for my B&O stuff) but now they have lost a loyal customer. It was not a matter of the price. I was willing to spend 6k or even 8k.
If Loewe + Almando will invest in some marketing and will show the new options, B&O will have a massive problem. And believe me, the new manager from Loewe (ex B&O management) knows the market.
Hello,
I am following this thread and also take part in the discussion. I have a LOEWE GALLERY shop in Amsterdam. If anybody wants a LOEWE TV + almando I can help you out from here.
Some have already taken the plunge of ordering the BILD 7 (Or Bild 5 or Bild 9) in my shop. And it all worked out perfectly. Installation is very simple.
If you like a quotation from me, send an email to info@koudijsonline.nl
Jeff: Definite Kudos to svinaik for not only daring to go beyond the walled garden but also for giving us all a map of the way!
It might be different for you guys in the USA.
But for B&O owners in Denmark the integretion of BeoLab speakers with a non-BV is nothing new - it has been know and practiced for years here.
And the Almando solutions are well known here too.
(Just look at a thread like this: http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=20679&PN=1&TPN=305
It can be a good solution for some users.
But people tend to forget that there are 3 parts of a BV setup.
Once there is of course the tv, then there are the speakers and lastly the way these integrate = the built-in sound processor/preamp/audio solution of the BV.
Yes, you can keep the nice BL’s, exchange the tv part with a Loewe (or something else), but you loose, what is essential to a BV/sound setup/solution.
You may argue, that the Loewe (or for that matter the Almando Multiplay Surround decoder) ‘does the job’.
But essentionally they are nothing more than a common multichannel receiver/preamp in a neat package (or even built in to the Loewe).
They know nothing about the possibilities of the different BL’s (including how to bas manage to the different BL subwoofers) and all the other sophisticated stuff, that is possible with the audio solution of a BSys4-based tv - just read the documentations of Geoff Martin for that.
If you don’t need that, there is nothing that should prevent you from using a 3rd party solution for connecting the BL’s to a Loewe tv.
Personally I need it - which is the reason why I stick to a modern BV as the hub of my setup.
Actually you were the last one, that I had expected this to come from.
Your thread on the BV11 http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/3372.aspx?PageIndex=1
has always been a great inspiration for me - re-read several times (thanks for writing that back then).
There you describe - from a practical point of view - what a BSys4-based audio solution is capable of.
Don’t you miss that with your current setup?
Or is what you gain from the Loewe tv more worth to you than that?
Millemissen:They know nothing about the possibilities of the different BL’s (including how to bas manage to the different BL subwoofers) and all the other sophisticated stuff, that is possible with the audio solution of a BSys4-based tv - just read the documentations of Geoff Martin for that.
This seems like a generalized statement without any actual content. Loewe Surround set up does account from the speaker range management (you have to define the speaker range in the set up).
Most important test of any set up is actual listening.
I would suggest that you actually listen to a real Loewe / Almando set up and then give your perspective. I had the BL 50 with BV 9 set up before I got the Loewe and in my personal listening, Loewe / Almando / BL sound is no less than BV / BL sound.
paper can say a lot but ears can hear a lot too.

I can personally vouch for professionalism of folks at Loewe Gallery @ Amsterdam. I was traveling in Amsterdam in October and spend a big chunk of my time at their store to discuss and understand the Loewe / Almando solution. Cess (Their store manager) was truly a gentlemen and a tremendous source of knowledge / customer service focus and assurance on the solution he was offering. He made a seemingly difficult decision (Importing a Loewe TV to the USA) very easy.

Well said my friend. Similar to your situation, I am and have been a big B&O fan and own / owned prettty much anything and everything B&O. I had been waiting for HDR TV from B&O for many years and actually postponed my decision on Avant 2 years back awaiting something great from B&O and if Eclipse is the best they can do now, I think B&O is over the peak towards a decline.
Moving to Loewe was not hard for me. At one time, back in 90s, I aspired to purchase their TVs and bought a CRT 32 inch TV which I used for more than 12 years. Their ART TV at that time was the state of the Art. I think with their OLED range, they are back on top on the TV side. I am yet to listen to their KLANG 9 so will reserve the judgement.
Regarding Eclipse, as they say, you can fool all the people for some time and some people for all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time.😊

Actually, I don't miss these features in my current AV setup: LG OLED with a decent soundbar, on a floor stand that integrates the setup. I do miss the motorized floor stand, though! For music, I use BeoPlay A6 and A8 these days – right now I don't need anything more.
I did indeed marvel at all the options available with BV11, even though I only added a BL11 for the setup. Did I need the full capabilities of the audio engine? No, not for my setup. That said, what Geoff has achieved with the audio engine is truly remarkable. How much you can take advantage of the features depends entirely on your setup.
For a one-point setup (all-in-one AV Center without extra speakers), Eclipse's audio engine's features are overkill. The same is largely true for a 3.0 / 3.1 setup. Even for a 5.1 setup, people seem to be happy with the settings Loewe/Almando offers.
Yes, Eclipse / Avant / BV14 / BV11 would be more feature-rich & capable – IF you need the features. Going beyond 5.1 to larger setups, the audio engine of Eclipse (or other current BeoVisions) cannot be beaten.
And to be clear, I really like the audio part of the Eclipse. I have no complaints about the SoundCenter – I wish there was a standalone version of it! It's the LG C7 plonked on top of the SoundCenter without a hint of anything that BeoVISION used to stand for that ruins the value proposition of the Eclipse for me. And because of that value proposition, the Loewe integration has a competitive edge – which more and more people see as a more sensible choice.
Thanks KMA,
I just wanted to hear, what made you change your mind.
Justasyou: Hi svinaik. Nice tv i saw it to last week just hope no problems with it since i heard that the Loewe OLED sometimes break down. I want to buy one for my house in France to but i hesitate for now Have you made good arrangement,s just in case it does not work?

I want to buy one for my house in France to but i hesitate for now
Have you made good arrangement,s just in case it does not work?
@Justasyou
I honestly do not know where you heard the Loewe BILD can break down. On the contrary, I think that Loewe BILD are probably the best built TVS. The panels for all OLED TVs worldwide come from LG and in some of the reviews I read that Loewe perhaps gets the best picks. They were one of the first to come out with OLEd after LG and have the most extensive range of OLED TV, even better than LG.
On the build side, I would take German made product (Loewe) any time over Mexico / China / Malaysia made product. It is just a perception that I have in my mind but I am always biased for German / Japan made products , if possible.
In fact, I am in the USA and there is no Loewe support here while you are in France and getting any support for Loewe should not even be an issue, should a situation arises.
In my life, I have never had any TV go bad on me so I am not too worried about it.
Hope my answers help you decide.
Hey svinaik,
I just tried the eclipse with the beolab 50, and I could adjust the Beolab 50 lens to narrow or wide very easy from the beoremote one,
So I was wondering what do you do to make this happen on your setup?
Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence
Emil Jensen: Hey svinaik, I just tried the eclipse with the beolab 50, and I could adjust the Beolab 50 lens to narrow or wide very easy from the beoremote one, So I was wondering what do you do to make this happen on your setup?
Hi Emil
I rarely use the Wide lenses setting because my room is pretty small but if I need to make any adjustment on BL 50, I only use the B&O App which is very simple and intuitive to use and gives much more control over all the possible setting options on BL 50.
I was doing the same when my BL 50 were set up with BV9.
What the ***...
Today I integrated my new Huawei Mate 10 Pro via bluetooth, so I`m able to hear my favorite sportify program. Yesterday I installed the loewe app on the smartphone and did the setup on the Loewe to record television program while not at home. Loewe app does have EPG. You could also use your smartphone to control the TV. And you are able to watch a different TV-channel on your tablet (sport channel) while your partner is watching some "women´s channel".
Yesterday I watched a 4k motion picture via Apple TV. PUC-transmitter via B&O? Man, within seconds the LOEWE assist remote was able to control the Apple-TV (you you teach the remote).
Done the sound setup with lower maximum permissible value of the speakers (BL9 + BL8000). Holy crab, the BL9 goes so deep, you do not need a subwoofer.
That LOEWE-thing is a killer. Picture, sounds, streaming...Everything is so easy and done within seconds. That´s what I call smart-TV.
hotknife: That LOEWE-thing is a killer. Picture, sounds, streaming...Everything is so easy and done within seconds. That´s what I call smart-TV.
I am not surprised at all. Loewe has all the right specs and their Operating System (Ventavision) is a world class act. TV operations are so intuitive and easy. I am not even using all the features regarding built in Recording (Even though BILD 7 has built in 1TB disk) etc. as I do not subscribe to Cable / TV service but just using with streaming etc is perfect.
Congratulations again.
BeoGreg:Well, not impressed by the look (it’s a simple panel with a wee speaker appearing), the built quality (plasticky screen/back with extra cloth and mat grey stand - nothing special at all
@BeoGreg
No worries if Loewe is not to your liking.I, on the other hand think that materials on Loewe are way better than Eclipse (Standard LG C7TV).
As these things are always a matter of personal taste, we are all correct in our subjective opinions

Chris Townsend:On that note, and for as long as I’ve got the Beolab 5s how do I mate it to our new tv? What extra gear do I need to connect them etc
@Chris.. First of all, I am glad to hear that all is well on the job side. Regarding the integration of BL5, you simply have to buy the Almando multiply surround and connect your Loewe and BL 5 to Almando.
There is nothing to it other than plugging cable from Loewe to Almando (this cable is included with Almando Box) and then connecting cables to between the BL5 and Almando (RJ45 on one end for Almando with powerlink on the other side for BL5). Steve from Sound Heavenly probably can make the cables for you or Almando may have it on their site.
When you do the initial setup on the Loewe, you can specify the external speakers in the sound setup section. Really intuitive and simple. Once done, your BL5 will behave same as if they are connected to BV. Loewe will control the volume and speakers will switch on and off when you switch off the TV.
Check out the Almando site here

Cheers for that.
