Hi guys,
After restoring my first beogram 4002 type 5511 I recently acquired a second one from a smoker and it needs quite a lot of cleaning.
Apart from that it also appears to have a mechanical problem, when I push the start button both motors start spining for about a second and I hear the relais of the carriage click but then it immediately stops and it seems to bounce back just a little bit.
The drive shaft is not stuck and I can manually rotate the shaft and arm to the middle. When I power the turntable on the arm moves back to its starting point without any problems.
I made a video https://youtu.be/uuzc8wVYSWQ , the noise you hear on the background is from the platter motor, it doesn't make a sound when the belt is installed.
Did not take it apart yet but would like to know if this is a common issue, mechanical/components failure...
Thanks for all your help.
Kristof
