When I had it, I used it for comparing turntables, as I had a Beogram 6000 in the phono socket which used the Hi setting and was quad, and I could attach my 4004 or 4000 in the Aux2 which used the low setting. Quite interesting to see which RIAA was better - the one in the deck or the one in the Beomaster! I can't remember now!!
Peter
Function of your age Peter ;~)
And also a function that I doubt I could hear the difference now!
Finished up on the pre amp and decided it was time to see if I had done any damage with all the pulling and tugging, sure enough when powered up the left rear channel was almost but not quite silent.....disconnected the Ipad and connected the newly acquired signal generator, was hoping for a chance to try this out, hauled out the analogue scope and started to search for a 4khz signal. Found it in all the right places so reconnected a speaker and the Ipad and all channels were fine......hada good jiggle of all the wire looms and boards to no avail, some things mortal man clearly isn't meant to know!
Has anyone seen Rudys (Beolover) latest post? he has one of these stripped down to the bare chassis!!!......and there are those who think I'm insane ;~)
Fitted a new tuner cord as the original looked a little frail
And the finished Item.......not the finest example of a Quad I know, but considering the condition in which it was received I'm tempted to call it Lazarus
Keypad has a couple of abrasions that wont come out.....
But overall I'm pleased with the outcome...
