Hi guys, just ordered my Loewe Bild 5.55 Oled with almondo-surround box and have "some money" left in my pocket.

I was wondering if a non B&O suwoofer ( eg. Velodyne MicoVee, B&W PV1D, Sunfire HRS8, Dynaudio Sub 250) make any sence for watching TV?

What do you think?

Thanks

In my opinion no, no subwoofer required.

between selling my old set up bl8000 & bl2 for fun I tried using that bl2 with my bl9s. It didn’t really add any extension rather just made the low mods worse and generally muddy sound. Just the bl9 was clearer and the same bass response.

I agree, it'd take a pretty large and potent subwoofer to add anything to the BL9s. Many subs out there are big enough to help with small speakers but not big and robust enough to really help a larger speaker in any way except usually making it harder to integrate well.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

So eg. 1000 watt from a Velodyne SPL-800i is at least the mark for the BL9? I won`t go above the the Velodyne, because bigger subwoofer will not fit into the "living landscape" of my wife.

Even the bigger ones like the Volodyne SPL-800i don`t make any sence (will destroy the sound), because the subwoofer has to mess with the BL9?

So next step is BL5 instead of BL9? But BL5 are fare tooooo big for the living room.

Same journey.

Sold my 8000’s that were with the lab2 and bought the 9’s I ran the 9’s with the lab2 for a few weeks turning it off and on and sold the 2 in the end as it was not really doing anything.

I loved the lab2 for film but not music and now my Avant can have speakers on and off for different sources I might buy another even if it’s just for the added rumble.
