I posted the thread and then it dissapered. So I post it again. Do not know so good how this works.

Have anyone tried to change the fabric on the frets to some kind of crushed velvet?

I know it is a tad rare but I thought it would look cool. I am just thinking about how much the velvet fabric will block the sound. Opinions?

Well my project at the moment is to change frets on a pair of 8000 and a pair of 4000 to dark blue velvet. And the cast iron bases on the 8000 will get covered in gold leaf.

Anyone has som *** sell, *** would not be a problem since it will be changed anyway.

Also would be super if anyone had the *** as well for sale.

Really want to be able to go back to original style as well so a double setup of those parts would be preferable.

And regarding the bases, any success covering in gold leaf for anyone?

Will post pictures when I gotten a little bit on the way

I bought both gold leaf and copper leaf, not sure what will look best.

The copper leaf actually had a beautiful rich tone, more like rosé gold than copper actually.

Trying to add photos but not sure how to.

Using an iphone for writing so assuming i dont have the same options as if I would be infront of a computer.

Hi DanTop,

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with this type of speaker styling, but I just wanted to say this project sounds very interesting - please post some pictures once you get the work done!

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve

I sure will👍🏻

Just need to find the parts for it and change it up, since I prefer to keep what I have now original.

Yes the Kvadrat fabrics are beautiful. Especially that new moss green colour

Here are a couple of links to copper and gold leaf options.

and also a link to the type of colour on the velvet i found today and plan to use.

I also found an amazing deep green velvet. Which made me think about going with green instead of blue.

Opinions would be appreciated 😊

I tried to post the photos straight in here but i can not get it to worl.

i put the photos in one album in my profile but when Inchoose the photo option in the reply, my photos dont show when i click the album.

Perhaps because I am using an iPhone and for some reasons that conflicts with the webpage?

The blue velvet looks very luxurious but the green colour is very beautiful and feels a bit different and perhaps more edgy.

I believe this type of green is called Bottle Green.
