Hi,

Went to the B&O store and bought a second hand BL5 & a Beosound 9000. But question about that might come later on. I haven't got them home yet. Still thinking how I want to connect my B&O equipment once they are delivered.

I saw BeoPlay E8 headphones. I normally use the standard Apple headphones with my iPhone. Not the wireless ones but the old with cable.

Sometimes I travel and the E8 is quite handy to bring along on a flight for example. Also to use in the car as headphones. How good are they to keep outside sound out. That is one of my question. The other is the sound and the lag that some people reported about when streaming videos. Also different sound levels on right and left and some dropouts.

If the bugs are fixed. I might be interested in buying a pair of E8.

Best regards.

Is there no-one who uses the BeoPlay E8 headphones on this forum?

Would really like to know before buying a set if they have solved some of the issues through software updates.

Of course - a quick search will find other threads on the E8's. No need for another. Just write on an existing thread.

The issues aren't fixed, no. In the same way the H5 issues weren't fixed either.

Thanks. I'm all for the search function. Used it and read the threads but found them lacking in many respect. There where one for each issue more or less. I'm sorry to hear that some of the issue are not fixed. My B&O store say that their customers are very satisfied with their E8. I might buy a set and try for myself.

Firstly, I'd always be wary of store advice - my store is up for sale and they claim a) business has never been better, b) they lack products only because they keep selling too quickly to re-stock (seriously) and c) everything from B&O is amazing and all customers are very happy.

But, on the flipside, I really like my H5, despite a lot of people having issues with them. So, might be worth picking up a pair to evaluate.

My local store said the same (but to be fair they had just come out like a day before I bought my pair that ended up being faulty, so I'm certain they weren't lying + they were pretty good with getting them refunded too). I had no issues with audio lag or connection dropouts, but my right earphone was quieter than the left (and kept getting quieter and quieter over the few days I had them) - other than that problem they were good earphones and I'd recommend them to anybody interested.

They're genuinely very good earphones if they work, and if you do get a faulty pair you can just exchange them for another pair or take them back for a refund so you won't really lose out.

Moxxey: I agree about wary about what store advice says in general. I´m skeptical by nature and always try to find information by myself. Trying to find different source of information. I read some reviews after talking to the sales person and in the back of my mind I remembered that there where some critic about some wireless headphones on this forum. I read them also. I find it interesting that reviews of which there are quite many don´t report about some problems reported here. But I think I will buy a pair of E8 and try for myself. I hope that my B&O store will be here many years from now. I hope that I can support them along the way even if i don´t find every product to my liking these days. The last new product I bought was the controversial BeoPlay V1 40" that I am very happy with still. The guy that pre owned the BL5 I am about to buy bought a pair of BL50. I think everyone involved in this transaction is satisfied.

I think B&O have missed a few things. They been to slow to adapt to what people want. For example why did they never built in a DVD/Blue-Ray in one of their stereo equipment? Think a BS9000 with Blue-Ray capability that you could load the whole Lord of the Rings at the same time. When people wanted to listen to LP records why not offer a LP-player. They could rebrand one if needed like they did with a DVD player. The televisions where to expensive during the translation years when flatscreen became the norm. Why not have a V1 ready then? They have been one step behind all the way. Now they have changed so much that their traditional owners don´t recognise themselves anymore.

Jonprocter: Thank you for your reply. I think I just buy a pair and try for myself. If there are any problems I´m sure that my store will fix it however way they can. Refund if needed. I just don´t want to buy something that I believe to be a problem. It´s not fun to buy something and then complain if it can be avoided.

I had all the same issues reported on this site.  Connection issue while outside, right earbud volume lower and the balance was off with or without the Beoplay app.  Just exchanged them for what the B&O store rep said was a second run of the earbuds.  So far I am not having the same issues.  Updated the firmware to 5.2.0 as well.  Fingers crossed that no issues pop up.

Purchased a pair of a month ago after losing my (second!!) set of AirPods. Stable and sound good now I’m using the expandable ear tips - with the silicone ones the sound was awful, I seem to have unnaturally tiny ear canals so they didn’t fit.
