Please help: I was trying to watch some movies with AAC sound ( from my western digital live hub conected to beosystem3) and I haven't had any sound.
Isn't BS3 able to decode AAC or should I do something for this? (maybe fw update??).
Thanks!
No, chance - look for yourself: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/picture/beosystem-3
But you could let the Live Hub rule the decoding.
Look into the settings for the Hub. Userguide: SETUP AND ADVANCED FEATURES – 176

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I'm really shocked! AAC is just MP4 even a mobile phone like a £50 Blackberry can play these files. DAMN! Are you serious?
As notet: this is not a feature of the BSys3. (Decoding of all HD-soundformats aren't either)
The BS3 is an old machine, soon to be replaced with the new videoengine in all future B&O-tvs
A workaround would be to convert the sound in the file to a BSys3-friendly format - but that is a hell of work if you are not familiar with it.....
....or to buy an AppleTV-box for these files: http://www.apple.com/appletv/specs.html

The BS3 accepts the PCM format. Almost every device (media players, BR players, STB) can output PCM. So if the format is decoded by the device and the output of the devce is set to PCM the BS3 can reproduce the sound!
