Hi All

Just considering adding a bluetooth receiver to my 1st gen A9, in order to connect to Amazon Echo to voice control the A9, and also be able to stream through Echo too.

There are a multitude of BT receivers available, and just wondering if anyone has actually had any success with adding a BT receiver to the original A9's ???

Hi and welcome to Beoworld :)

choose one of a better know brand and if your device supports it: Have a look if the receiver supports Bluetooth aptX for better sound quality (if that's an issue).

For example an older Sony BM-10. Should be cheap to find as it is unfortunately no longer produced.
Supports aptX and supports a maximum theoretical distance of 100m!

Not much help on the amazon site.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202179330

I wonder how good this transmission will be soundwise.

Wouldn’t it be possible to hardwire a (an extra) DOT to the line-in and control that from another Alexa device on the network....

.....just like it is with Chromecast/GoogleHome Mini devices?

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Thanks for the replies :)

I have found and ordered this aptX receiver.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01KLSTOS4/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2JYKDL02CLV4Y

I'll see if it does the job, and report back.

Just an update to my quest for a compatible Bluetooth receiver for the 1st gen A9.

I purchased the Avantree Roxa plus aptX , and it works perfectly .

I have an Amazon Echo, and it paired up first time, and also works fine.

Happy listening! Smile

Sorry to bump such a old thread but I in the same boat looking to add bluetooth to my 1st gen a9.

My only issue is mine is wall mounted and hard wired and was wondering if there is any other ways of achieving this.

I have been toying with the idea of a usb bluetooth dongle as there so compacted.

Any ideas for less wires?

Hey Technik21, I have a a9 gen 1 and also want to link an echo to it, is your setup working well? Was it simple to add the bluetooth receiver?

Hey Shannzy, how have you got on with sorting the Bluetooth for the gen 1 A9?? I’m looking to do the same.
